To be all that honest, I was hoping for a 2D kind of game. I wonder if it's more or less difficult to destruct/interact with enviorments because of the 3D model.
There's already a SS13 2D remake in the works (quite far in too). As for destruction, you obviously have more entities to destroy, question is how they handle it. In SS13 usually stuff is either there, or destroyed (or in the case of floors it can be damaged too), so the same in 3D really wouldn't be hard (you'd have one or two objects that have 2-3 models for different damage levels, the rest would be just 1), however in 3D it's more evident and looks worse (even moreso than 2D). It's not the computing power that is lacking for 3D destruction, it's just that unless it's procedurally calculated (which is very complex stuff), you need various 3D models for every single object for its different states of destruction, which obviously is a lot of work.
Why is this thread playing music? What the fuck
It's playing the official theme for Centration. Not sure how, looks like a vimeo plugin.
-+ ^-> (Broken arrow key)
Then use the numpad keys?

Hook me up with that shit, mate!
I think I just got the last key. Holy crap, that went fast.

It's going to require a lot of tweaking on our end, especially to get the right effects for metallic damage such as bending and denting, but we've figured out a pretty neat way to get it sorted.
Sounds interesting, will have to keep my eye on this.
Remake? Hook me up with that shit, mate!
http://spacestation13.com/ Last update was a while ago, but they are active on the forums and are basically doing background work. Anyway about Centration: Will the combat be more like Skyrim, with basic parrying and attack+powerattack, or will it be more like Condemned/DarkMessiah, with a lot of different stuff and very brutal?

Now that is awesome.
Darker and 3D version of Space station 13, Must have.

I mean hell, you can pick up your shoe and use it as a weapon. That's one of the key ideas with the combat system.
So will this have similar situations like SS13? Will I have to combat space-wizards?
So will this have similar situations like SS13? Will I have to combat space-wizards?
It's not SS13, so don't expect the same stuff. Also grimdarker so I'd expect no spesswizards, but something grimmer.
It's not SS13, so don't expect the same stuff. Also grimdarker so I'd expect no spesswizards, but something grimmer.
Spess psykers?
Hopefully he adds the Changeling though. And Chem mixing, please let there be Chem mixing.
Spess-necromancers? Spess-warlocks? Or maybe spessmehreens?
Spess Zombies? ;-)

Could make for some scary shit too, even SS13 can be kinda creepy when you are alone in the dark.

Lots of room for activities!
Honestly it sounds really interesting, I think some gameplay showing the features in action would have me sold.
#57, hope that when and if they give out more beta, they'll pick me :)
SS13 is scary anyways when you're screwing around alone on your private server and suddenly you hear a clown walking.
Honestly it sounds really interesting, I think some gameplay showing the features in action would have me sold.
We hope to get a lot more media out soon, it's just that a lot of the work right now is behind-the-scenes on things like atmospherics and electrical; it's not really something we can show - especially since a lot of the art right now is untextured and/or programmer art. Hopefully sometime soon we can get some more media out though.

How much have you worked on the game? I'm making a game of my own (very very slowly) which is much different from this, but also has a chemical reaction system. Wanna :quagmire:
