My 360 hasn't broken yet. but the failure rate baffles me. IMO it shouldn't even be legal to sell a system with such a high rate of failure. At least, customers should have the brains to know that a proper piece of enginering shouldn't fail often enough for litterally everyone knowing just how it looks when it fails. Some people still have perfectly working Nes systems. my PSX is on its 14th year now and still running like new. it's a very lousy way to run bussiness and that was why i chose to get it AFTER my ps3. Yes it does have a yellow light of death. but i bet you my sweet ass in prison, it's not appearing often enough to be considered when buying one at all. I can't believe that it was even allowed to be sold, but whatever. I dislike that disrespect of their customer and they can kiss my ass. i'm gonna keep leeching on only the good titles for tha bawx and stick to my PS3 and PC. just my 2 cents... microsofts ways of the trade is pure bullshit and reeks of disrespect and shady characters.
Which brings me to my next complaint. The infamous Red Ring of Death. Way to go Microsoft. Brilliant design there. A console that they know runs hot, and they use things like lead-free solder to hold the all-important CPU and GPU units onto the motherboard. As such, as soon as the 360 gets hot (which it's bound to), it shits itself, and Red Rings. With a previously 20% failure rate, the 360 is clearly establishing a new standard for reliability.
Uh, lead free solder melts at a higher temperature than leaded solder. At least know what you're talking about.
All of these issues are the user's fault. Yeah, the Xbox has a high failure rate, but if you keep your Xbox clean (like you should) then you'll be fine. Also, why are you tilting you Xbox while you play? That's the only reason you fuck up your discs.

I've had a copy of GTA4 ruined by a 360 when it was sat on a table with nobody near it.
the 360 literally has no games except halo and crackdown. the ps3 on the other hand has lbp, mgs4, heavy rain, uncharted, demon's souls, and much more.
If you judge a console by it's number of exclusives then you're a dumbass.
If you judge a console by it's number of exclusives then you're a dumbass.
Yeah, judge it by the amount of exclusives you like.
Incorrect. I've had a copy of GTA4 ruined by a 360 when it was sat on a table with nobody near it.
That has never happened to me. My 360 has only messed up two games, but that was because my little brother toppled the Xbox over. After laying my console on it's side it's been fine. [editline]09:18AM[/editline]
Yeah, judge it by the amount of exclusives you like.
The only reason I'd get a PS3 is MGS4. Uncharted looks decent, but I've never heard of Demon's Souls. And LittleBigPlanet isn't that good, I've got it on my PSP and I played it at a friend's house.
If you judge a console by it's number of exclusives then you're a dumbass.
how? more exclusives means more incentive to buy the console. more exclusives also means you can cater to a wider audience, especially when your exclusives are of varying genres.
My 360 just had all it's game data wiped after I installed the Fifa 10 demo.. :colbert:
Hey guy, Sony's failure rates are about the same as Microsoft's look it up.
Last time kotaku posted failure rates the failure rates for 360s was 55%, ps3s were 10% and Wii's were 7%. That's from a pool of 5000 people from game informer. Granted that was nearly a year ago, and over time since the slim versions have come out of both 360s and ps3s both failure rates would have dropped but still, that's a hard average for Microsoft to catch up.
What the hell are you saying, Diet Kane? Haven't you seen all of those " PS3 HAS NO GAME! " jokes and comics? I'm pretty sure they're made for a reason, right?
Sounds like someone didn't watch E3 this year.
Fucking family video puts stickers around the middle of the rental disc, I put it in the xbox and it shredded it because the sticker wasn't put on properly and it made the disc go off track. Luckily I could return it without them knowing. Then it happened again, I got it out in time to salvage it and I put the fucking sticker on right.
You would think that microsoft not shit up the XBOX. I guess you have the new slim one,
The only thing that pisses me off is that I can't copy videos and music from my USB device, I gotta buy it over their Zune marketplace.
Also, Microsoft Customer Service. What the hell?
also,Windows Live WHAT THE FLYING FUCKING HELL? both on 360 and pc,it's the shittiest feature ever, especially on pc i got a copy of Chaos Rising with a code that gives special gears, but i never could use it since Live is bugged and keep telling me it can't download the file to give the gears... but that's another story oh and my buddy got 6 RROD 360s 6!!! the 7th is fine now
how? more exclusives means more incentive to buy the console. more exclusives also means you can cater to a wider audience, especially when your exclusives are of varying genres.
No? When over half of your exclusives are boring as hell it's not a very good incentive at all.
or in gta4 when you have to login to steam then rockstar online then windows live then register the game with Windows live then you can play.
holy shit that too i guess nearly everything microsoft touches turns into a clusterfuck they should have stick to making exploitation systems Windows XP,even after all these years,is still great and Windows 7 is pretty good too
The only problem I've had with my 360 is that the more I play it the more and more it seems that the graphics are decaying. Then again it doesn't help that my cousins play it for 8 hours at once.
Need. PS3. So. Bad. I'm suffering from gaming withdrawal.
Install to harddrive, use it. Especially now that you can use your own harddrives.
If you judge a console by it's number of exclusives then you're a dumbass.
What if a console has obviously great exclusives, where as the other console has very little good exclusives?
What if a console has obviously great exclusives, where as the other console has very little good exclusives?
PS3 has what, two good exclusives?
360 has what, two good exclusives?
Fixed.
PS3 has what, two good exclusives?
in 2007 yes. get with the times, stop showing off your edgy 360/pc fan attitude. it reeks of ignorance. i show off my LAID BACK pc/360/ps3 fan attitude :smug:
I have already a PS3 since the first week it came out, It never overheated only sometimes there will be a little lag in games such as GTA IV if you dont have enough space left. There are many games on the PS3 wich aint able even if it gets ported be able to run on XBOX. PS3 is better in my opinion. And dont forget the Blu-Ray Reader on it. You can just run your movies and PS2 games on it. Theres only one problem, You need a television with HD on it. Or you cant connect your PS3.
You sir are unbearably stupid. Every single PS3 game if ported would run on an Xbox360, EVERY one of them. You might have to turn the shaders down slightly if you're doing something extremely fancy, but other than that both consoles can push like a fucking million polys to the screen a second. It'd be hard for an art team to generate enough content to be rendered that either console's poly or fill rate was challenged. End of story. But yea tl;dr both of the consoles can display just about anything any art team can come up with
And neither of them can play munched-on disks. Luckily, one of them doesn't have to.
Only time my Xbox has munched a disk is when it was tilted the upside down when someone bumped into it. [editline]10:07PM[/editline] P. sure a PS3 doesn't run well upside down either.
4/5 times, I moved it a few inches on accident. 1/5 times, it spontaneously ate my disk. Engineering at its finest.
