oh, there was my exxbawks, the disc tray fucked up royally so i have to use my brothers xbox
with a fucking stupid l33t gamertag
Well it all caters to taste. It seems like the exclusives (and maybe the ps3 in general) is aimed more at the semi-casual gamer, rather than the 360, which is more aimed towards the hardcore gamer.
360 was aimed at hardcore gamers, but now it's turning into a family console. didja watch E3?
You people are silly choosing sides and acting like one is better than the other. All consoles have their pluses and their faults. Stfu and play the games.
the RROD has been fixed for what, two years now? Ever since Jasper came out. Facepunch is fucking retarded.
[editline]01:45AM[/editline]
1. they have fixed it
2. you're fucking retarded, that's like saying BIG PHARMA keeps people sick to keep selling them meds. Moron.
They haven't fixed RROD at all.
And while Big Pharmaceutical may or may not keep people sick to sell them more drugs, they -do- change drugs in minor ways so that they can re-patent it as a completely new drug so they can keep charging the same high price for it. And then they tell doctors that if they don't prescribe the new drug, they lose out on any of the money they may be getting from the drug companies.
One of the bigger examples of this is Prilosec. When the patent was running out, they reformulated it, called it Nexium, and kept charging huge amounts of money for it. It was in no way different from Prilosec in how it worked in the human body. A generic version of Prilosec (which was then legal to make) worked just as well, for a fraction of the cost.
Am I the only one who rarely finds annoying people on the 360?
Microsoft doesn't fix the red ring of death for a reason, if people's xboxs keep breaking they have to buy new ones, meaning more money for Msoft.
Not really. Microsoft lost millions in that problem. I mean mine got the 3 red rings, I got a new one and its served me fine for 2 years. After like the first year of the problem they fixed the problem with the falcon chip or what not.. I want a ps3 for its ability to have games with good graphics but thats only becuase of blu ray.
My Xbox 360 recently broke just in time for the warranty to expire. I already had it sent to be fixed a while ago too. With all of the things you have to pay for: the Xbox live, the Microsoft points, the wireless adapter (which should of came along with the console in the first place), the stupid dlc, I'm done with Microsoft consoles altogether.
...tell me about it.
Friend of mine got the RRoD a year ago and Just turned in his 360 a month ago. He got a email from microsoft apologizing for the 10 month wait and a code for 10k microsoft points and 3 months gold free.

Ahh, MS customer service. Where intelligence goes to die.
Reading through this thread is very annoying.
Reading through this thread is very annoying.
How so?
I agree, personally I love my Xbox. It's really a great console, it only died once but I have an older model which is more sensitive. They replaced it and fixed the problem. The games are also great and I always get smooth servers.
Still the case is so big and the fans are so loud, it's so annoying at times. The Xbox itself is just a smaller metalic case inside the huge plastic cover. They wasted a lot of space with that dumb plastic cover.
It's really time for a new design and a small upgrade in the hardware. There is a new one but I haven't heard much about it.
Actually how is the new model?
I find it funny that when the PS3 came out, all the XBOX die hards were complaining it didn't have any games. A year later they still were. Except the fact the XBOX was out for three years, the PS3 for two, oh and what's that? That almost have the same number of games?! Yea. Technically the PS3 has a larger game base.
In other news:
I'll buy an XBOX when they fix the problems they have now. Seriously, a dollar could save the millions. But nope, they'd rather save two cents than save a million dollars.

3 years/4 years. Just sayin'.
3 years/4 years. Just sayin'.
I was saying when they first came out. Not today.
I despise all the love/hate for the consoles. Shit it's annoying and already fucking old.
I like the xbox but the ps3 has a browser which is really great.
I was saying when they first came out. Not today.
Ah. My fault, misread. Still. The exclusives really are a taste thing.
I went with the ps3 and i'm happier with it, since i only play games on consoles casually, paying for a subscription didn't seem worth it.
After playing Halo 1&2 for the pc i'm probably getting a 360 for halo 3, no shit. And borderlands splitscreen.
I agree with you OP. I have both an xbox and a ps3 and I NEVER use the xbox anymore. I've had red rings and its chewed up a game or two while theres never been a problem with my ps3.
I don't know why people get so uptight about defending the xbox. Just because theres a lot of people that don't get problems with their console doesn't mean that you don't CONSTANTLY hear about people getting red rings. Why would you support a console with such a terrible failure rating? Would you buy a car that you know breaks down that often? I sure as hell wouldn't.
I wouldn't even consider buying any product that breaks 20% of the time no matter what it is. If there was a problem with chapstick that happened to spontaneously melt 20% of the time I would just buy something else. Even if thats my favorite chapstick or something.
Microsoft doesn't fix the red ring of death for a reason, if people's xboxs keep breaking they have to buy new ones, meaning more money for Msoft.
And the customers will get irritated and they will eventually lose customers that they could have kept otherwise. Clearly, the 360 is too popular to go completely out of business until its hardware is too old to handle new games, but happy customers are loyal customers, willing to buy new products as well. Angry customers are more reluctant to do so, meaning they'd get less money with their next consoles.

So you will never own a refrigerator, laptop, or lawnmower, because all of the above have an average failure rate between 20-30%.

My refrigerator and lawnmower have never broken. My laptop is a piece of shit thought.

The 360 is a powerful machine.
No it isn't, you could build a $300 PC with more power than the 360 these days.
No it isn't, you could build a $300 PC with more power than the 360 these days.
Thats exactly what I did.
Jesus Christ guys let people like what they want and leave it at that. No need to argue, it's getting pretty fucking old. It's like two eight-year-old's arguing over which Pokemon is cooler. IMO it's total fucking bullshit that people think "OH HURRDURR PS3 IS BETTER THAN ECKSBAWKS LOL RROD" or "LOLOLO PS3 HAS NO GAEMS". Both consoles have their ups and downs. The Xbox 360 is good for casual gaming, and playing with friends and having a robust online world. Whilst the PS3 is good for graphics and single player gameplay. PS3 has some great exclusives, I.E. Uncharted 2 and God of War 3. Xbox 360 also has great exclusives, too. I.E. Halo, Gears of War. Let it go, people. Both consoles are great and one isn't better than the other.
tl:dr, grow the fuck up and let people like what they like
I was naive kid once. I got the 360 because it had Halo 3.
You can guess what I am feeling now. :argh:
