I hope they turn Servos into Golems or somesuch.
Have you played The Sims 2 Castaway? It was incredibly awesome and I especially liked the PSP version because the sim actually had to put walls and objects together.
That game was awesome!
sounds like it could be awesome
[editline]08:41AM[/editline]
or shit
It would only be awesome if there was stuff like hunting and slaying dragons and shit.
I want to kill a bear with a dagger, use it's fur as a blanket and feast on it's flesh. It is the life of a true warrior.
[editline]12:51PM[/editline]
It would be a waste to be able to forge a sword and it not use it to slay some Minotaurs.
Why does medieval always have to be magic?
Can you kill peasant scum
I'd so buy the game just to do that
Something tells me there won't be any killing, at all.
This game sounds like it'll have some shitty tacked-on combat.
I am afraid to buy a Maxis game because they either fuck it up or release an endless amount of sequels and expansions. I wish they'd lower the price of Spore and release another decent expansion.
Something tells me there won't be any killing, at all.
They'll soften the content up for younger players. It'll be like Spore all over again. What could be a gritty and indepth game turns into a cookiecutter childrens title.
Sound like I need to brush op on my medieval English.
I always liked The Sims, they were great fun! Looking forwards to this.
Quick! Famine, constant warfare, plague, corrupt nobles, starving peasant folk!
Oh wait, it's the Sims, so we can't have any of these things, so it might as well just be bored European's sitting in some abandoned castle imagining they're back in the Middle Ages!
Wooo
It would be cool if it was like Baldur's Gate's world or something and not actual Medieval times.
When I read the title,I thought of "The Simseth."
It seems like they're being more ambitious since Will left, showing off perhaps?
When I read the title,I thought of "Ye Olden Simulatory Jests."
Fixed. Remember that Olde Englishe is taken very literally.
When you pirate The Sims Medievil and start it without a crack, a pop-up will read "STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!"
Is there going to be a chance of contracting the black plague or shit being thrown out of windows? If there is, then I'm already sold on this game
I really hope this won't be some kiddie shit without real violence, but because it's a sims game I won't be getting my hopes up.
Well they made mods that let you cut up and dismember other sims in the first or second I don't remember which.
This is going to be shit.
This isn't the point of Sims, this is just stupid. I can't stress enough how utterly idiotic this idea is.
If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was an April Fool's joke. But it's not. :gonk:
This isn't shit, you just hate medieval.
Magic... :suicide:
Magic... :suicide:
They've done Magic before. The first time they did it (Makin' Magic) was epic and a true expansion. The second one was mediocre at best.

People are always, always, complaining that the games market is over saturated with monotonous, copy and pasted video games, reusing the same formula over and over and never trying anything new.
Then, when a new idea, something totally different that hasn't been tried before comes along it instantly gets bombed to shit with people complaining that they don't want change or assuming right off the bat it will be shit, purely because it's not what they had last time.
So what if this isn't the "point" of the Sims? The point is to create stories from virtual people and how their lives play out. It's been done to pieces with the old ones, exploring various aspects of real life that can be reimagined by players in their games or to create something that could only happen in their wildest fantasies! Perhaps they could grow up in game to become an Astronaut, with 13 kids who lives in a huge house surrounded by pink flamingos?
This is a new direction they're taking and will open this idea to a whole new level. Didn't you ever wonder what it would have been like to be a knight, or a king as a kid? I for one will be glad to be free of making my Sim poop before going to work each morning. Now I'll make him fight dragons.
Don't shun change, embrace it.
Holy shit, I had a powerful urge to write how I wanted a "Medieval Sims" game to happen a couple months ago.
Plague, Plague everywhere.

Dragons with googly eyes and flowers for blood?
I wouldn't be complaining if it was some other company doing it, and actually doing it right, but I feel like they're going to ruin it. It just isn't what they're good at.
It better include some big manly beards.

Making it appeal to various markets doesn't mean they wont include "adult themes". The Sims 2 had multiple ways of dying, some being fairly horrific like burning to death, and, practically, casual and reproductive sex and the Sims tends to keep things mildly reasonable with anatomy.
I think you thinking along the lines of Spore.
Most likely gonna be an expansion, there's already quests in TS3WA.
