Ahaha going through all the SWAT sound files is great, I didn't expect the "Snake?" one. Kept flicking the switch. "Uhhh...nothing's happening." Then the switch malfunctioned and I'm like, "Oh fuck." I quickly turned to the middle of the room and BAM that face is right in front of my face. Shat my pants.

In 5 I'm dissapointed I missed some of the good scares, like going right isntead of left in the mannequin room, the mannequin at the window etc.
This was an absolutely wonderful playthrough, and this is undoubtedly one of the scariest and highest quality source mods out there. Even as an Afraid of Monsters veteran, I was still startled and creeped out by some parts, one of the main ones being[sp]The decreasing metal hallway, with you looking up at the end to see Emily floating inches above you, and the floor collapsing to let you out.[/sp] It was also pleasant to notice the many sources of inspiration and ideas that this mode politely borrowed from other games, such as the shadowy figures from Metro 2033, or various atmosphere based techniques and pacing from the Penumbra series, or [sp]Condemned mannequins(I did not play through that segment of the game, but was aware of it.)[/sp], and many other examples. By the way, who here cannot wait until Amnesia:Dark Descent? It should be absolutely awesome!

If you look in the swat_new sound files you will come across two files named: Blip Blip_everywhere In that order.

Besides, I find the NH2 HUD elements to be minimalistic enough.
I think that I can safely say, that after seeing the incredible quality of basically every asset used in this game, the sounds, music, voice acting, atmosphere, pace and easter eggs, that [b]this is the best mod made in Source ever made, surpassing Garry's Mod, Sven Coop, Synergy, Minerva and all other legendary mods.[/b]
I love how realistic the creator of the mod was. It wasn't over the top 'i'm going to have to recreate everything', he just knew the SS model from counter strike with a simple re-skin and some custom animations would be suitable. He did what was NECESSARY to make it good, not overboard. On a completely unrelated note, the models from the end on that generator makes a pretty nifty robot [img] http://filesmelt.com/dl/gm_construct0033.jpg[/img]

Just finished the mod, actually managed to finish it without shitting myself, which was hard at points. I mean wow, there's so many aspects about this game which makes it great, the effects, the ideas. I was fucking blown over during most of the parts in the game, and the story was awesome as it finally came to sense in my head.
I liked these quotes, the voice acting is amazing for a mod: [sp]these are all quotes from the squad that help you later in the game- In the tunnel with vehicles and zombies: "I'm just thinking about how scary it would be if a flaming homeless person came out of nowhere right now." One of them said at some point: "Holy shit, I think I just crapped my pants!" the "automatic" lady voice says the door has been opened: "Thank you, nice lady!", one of the squad members reply in a happy voice.[/sp] The quotes aren't completely correct, but something along those lines. I thought they were funny. :v:
The ending was one of the most satisfying endings i've ever had in a game. And the music kicked ass. Goddamn I loved this
