-The DotA developer Icefrog was hired by valve
-He is working on a secret project, said it will be revealed somewhat soon (Gamescon, anyone?)
Predictions;
-The project is either a new DotA backed by Valve, DotA rereleased without requiring the Warcraft 3 engine so Valve can put it on Steam, or an entirely new project.
-Valve wants to expand out of the action FPS genre. Hence hiring Icefrog and (rumored) trying to poach Notch.
I don't care much for DotA, but a Valve developed action RTS sounds awesome beyond belief. Valve wants to drink Blizzard's milkshake.
But WHAT IF DotA stands for something completely different this one time? I mean, it IS an acronym, afterall...

All you do is move around a Hero unit and destroy towers.
That's about it for gameplay.
There really isn't any other game that is like DotA, besides Demigod.
It's a competitive and strategic pseudo-tower defense game.

Ehh... Heroes are really only there as support while Creeps do most of the work.
You earn money and experience in the game and you're stripped of it after the game.
Attacking and Defending isn't like CTF.
