Red Orchestra 2, sadly enough.
It might yet be worth it once the major mods start hitting, but for now, between the dying community and dozens of servers filled with only bots, it's just depressing.
...not to mention the degree to which they simply fucked up RO1's formula. Unlocks and a ranking system? Puh-lease.
Aliens vs Predator the SEGA Xbox/PS3 Game god that game was awful
Oh and Naughty Bear got rid of that shit like an STD
X3: Reunion. The controls are just awful and the game is stale really, at least i got it on sale though.

I have to agree, messing around was funner in Skate 3, but I enjoyed the atmosphere, skating, and the overall experience of Skate 2 better.
Starcraft II
all the Total War series except medieval and rome
Dead Space 1 and 2. I never got into them. The controls were fucked up on the PC, and I couldn't even aim without swiping my mouse over the pad 50 times to move 10 degrees. Once I got an Xbox controller, I lost interest in the game.
I also regret Crysis Warhead. It doesn't even run well on my PC despite me having perfect FPS in the Crysis 1 Demo, and the pacing of it seems like it's starting me off in the middle of a story rather than the beginning.
The Indie game bundle on Steam. *sigh*

I personally thought Dead Space 1/2 were really well-presented games that occasionally made you jump and just immersed you into an amazing atmosphere but hey control problems are control problems I guess
also I regret buying BFBC2 because it can't run for shit on my PC

that's because it is. the game took place on the other side of the island literally during the middle of Crysis. i doubt crytek wanted the players to view it as a "completely new" story at all but rather an expansion to the first game.
Saints row 3
Haze.
Worst game I've ever played.
When you're under the ages of ten never judge how good a game is based on it's box.

Smash Cars
It looked like Revolt, but the campaign only had one course that was split into different tracks, and the whole thing took less than 2 hours to beat. No multiplayer, so I'll probably never play it again.
Psychonauts.
Borderlands
RAGE
Why in god's name are you 20 fucking gigs I can't afford to download that much
Rage
Kingdoms of Amalur
SWTOR
Brink

I can't really think of any games that I truly wish I hadn't bought because I buy basically everything on sale nowadays, and if it's not on sale then it's probably something I would love no matter what.
Actually, I bought Black Ops full price because I liked MW2, hated it and only spent about 7 hours in the multiplayer, 1 or 2 in the singleplayer. Also Recettear, yeah there's a lot of fanboys for it on FP, but the game is not only a huge grind, the bartering isn't very interesting and I don't like the kawaii atmosphere in the game. I'd be fine with the characters if they weren't written to cliche-like.
I guess I'd have to go back a while to find anything else:
Metroid Prime Hunters (Wow this was just awful in my opinion, more of a tech demo for the DS than a game)
QBert for the PSX (Got old really fucking fast)
[editline]5th March 2012[/editline]
Torchlight. (It's probably not a bad game, but I found out that I didn't like dungeon crawlers that much due to this game)
50% of the potato sack games.
Dunno, sometimes I think that it's not exactly a waste of money if you buy the game and find that you dislike the genre, because at least you learned that you dislike the genre.
What I consider a waste is when you buy a game from a genre you like and find it to be horrid, don't really learn anything from it, which I guess is why I regret buying Black Ops and Recettear, I love FPS and dungeon crawling, but hated those games anyway.
Are you talking about the demo that you got with the original NDS or the actual game?
The actual game, the demo was technically called "Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt" or something along those lines.
I say it was more like a tech demo to me because the gameplay was really boring but the game was impressive when it came to graphics.
Left 4 Dead 2, Global Agenda and Minecraft
tbh minecraft went to shit after alpha
Homefront, definitely my biggest regret.
Also The Binding of Isaac and the Penumbra series. (Loved amnesia though totally worth the money.)
Darksiders, it was a terrible game.
Never Winter Nights 2, KOTOR, Fable III. Bought them and played a total of 51 minutes, 32 minutes, 54 minutes (respectively). Nothing against them, but I think when I finally got around to playing them it was right before I got invited to something else and never picked it up again.

You should really keep playing KOTOR, it's one of my favorite games.
Project Zomboid
Brink
Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks on DS.
Was really disappointing compared to Phantom Hourglass.

Multiplayer was where it was at. It was probably the best multiplayer FPS game on DS.
Unreal Tournament 3
Played the demo, ran perfectly, loved it
Payed $80 (Australia) for the full game, spent 24 hours downloading it (Australia)
3fps on every map :saddowns:
Uninstalled, didn't play until years later when I had a different GPU
Works fine this time, gets boring after an hour

UT3 was only superior in graphics. Everything else was just boring comparing it to UT2k4.
The fact that they gave it a story just made it bad instead of the "tournament where you kick everyone's shit in"
And no, I wont pretend it doesn't has a story nor will I accept that its basically the same thing as if it was a real tournament.
