starcraft 2 doom 2 zelda tp battlefield 2 2142 vice city san andreas
Wait is this legal? :colbert:
Deus Ex. No no wait, hear me out. It's not because of the game itself. It's merely because I am the SHITTIEST stealth game player of ALL FUCKING TIME.
Well coincidentally Deus Ex is a shitty stealth game. In fact, gameplay wise, it's all around shitty. The reason it's so great is because of its story, and the deftness with which it intertwines gameplay and story.
Amnesia - It's not a bad game at all, I've played the demo and it was looking great and the athmosphere is amazing. I'm just to much of a pussy to play it, it'll probably sit at my library uninstalled until i become a man and install it. Saints row 2 - I watched so many videos of it on youtube and it looked like a great co-op game to spend hours with bros on, I bought it on PC for 9,99€ and it's literally the worst port i've ever played. Black ops - I liked world at war, I believed treyarch when they said that PC gamers come first and that they'd bring free DLC and support etc, Decent port with decent graphics with a decent sp with an unbalanced MP (AK74U) [editline]22nd April 2011[/editline]
Wait is this legal? :colbert:
Not sure if i catch your meaning but I'm pretty sure he means battlefield 2 is as good as it was hoped to be.
Legacy Of Kain: Defiance. The massive gameplay changes from the first two Soul Reavers really disappointed me.
Shogun 2 to be honest. Never manage to finish a game due to it end up dying after so many turns and I just don't feel like playing a campaign never knowing when it's going to fuck up again.
Facebreaker, that was one of the most undeveloped games ever, all it was was you getting pounded by an overpowered AI, and there was no good game modes, if any at all
Torchlight, it was fun as hell but it got real repetitive real quick. Also there's no multiplayer
Red Dead Redemption... I sold for 13 bucks after about 6 months... In retrospect, I paid too much for it initially (Roughly 55 or so used...) Fuck Gamestop...
Surprised you would say that. I have gotten so much value out of RDR, and I still play it even a year after its release. definitely in my top 5 games of last decade.
Surprised you would say that. If I was not a broke asshole I would buy the DLC for the game which I hear is amazing.
If I was not a broke asshole I would buy the DLC for the game which I hear is amazing.
It is. Co-op missions are orgasmic, and Undead Nightmare is tons of fun. Plus all the extra achievements give a lot more replay value to the game.
Neverwinter Nights - I'm sure it's a great game. But the copy I bought was in one of those cheap game packs by Atari. And it turns out a huge batch of installation CD's had missing sound files which rendered the game unplayable. I got one of those.. City of Heroes - Only played it a few times and never got into it. Second Sight - The gameplay in this game is really bad on the PC. I should have gotten it for the Xbox. The Witcher - God dammit I want to play this game so bad. But it turns out it isn't compatible with Windows 7.. Black & White 2 - Garbage Resident Evil 4 (PC) - WORST PC port of all time. Period. You think GTAIV and Saints Row 2 are bad? This port doesn't even utilize the mouse. YOU AIM WITH THE ARROWS ON THE NUMPAD! Unreal Tournament 3 - Just wasn't as good as 04 Just Cause 2 - lacking content. It feels unfinished like they've taken shit out for DLC.
I hate how people who never even heard of Call of Duty prior to Modern Warfare 2 think that jumping on the "I hate COD hurrdurr" bandwagon makes them cool and popular. Highly evidenced by the current Call of Duty megathread. Call of Duty 1, 2, and 4 are some truly great games. Modern Warfare 2, ignoring the lack of dedicated servers, wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be, but it definitely isn't as good for it's time as the first Modern Warfare was in it's time. They overdid it with everything (especially perks and killstreaks), ruined the fantastic story of the first Modern Warfare, and then asked me to pay another $30 for 10 extra maps. Not good. So far, I really like the multiplayer of Black Ops, they really seem to have balanced out the perks and equipment and killstreaks, and the game actually takes skill to play. People who complain about the AK74u don't understand that it is supposed to be a baby-step below an assault rifle with the mobility and range of a submachine gun. Versatility does not equal overpoweredness.
That's why you don't taunt yourself from all the videos, NO game has ever lived up to it's hype.
Portal 2 Half Life 2 Every elderscrolls And diablo 3 will live up to the hype. And of course there are ALOT more games that have lived up to their hype. But couldn't bother to write them all down.
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Do I even have to explain this one? Only good thing about it was Zombies. Frontlines: Fuel of War - This game blew pretty badly. For those of you who haven't played it, think Homefront, they're remarkably similar. Supreme Commander 2 - If I had known it was going to be as bad as it is, I wouldn't have preordered it. Dawn of War 2 - They fucking ruined DoW. Fallout 3: GOTY - Not that it was a bad game, but there was only 1 good DLC, and another one that didn't completely blow donkey cock, the other 3 were pretty bad, wish I got the game and DLC that I wanted separately, saved some cash. Bad Company 2 - Not the worst game ever, but not worth the 50 bucks I paid for it. Splinter Cell: Conviction - Again, not a bad game, but nowhere near as good as the original SC games, and not worth 50 bucks.

The original bioshock and gta4
Luckily for me I bought all COD's but only up to COD4. After hearing about how bad MW2 was I avoided it and also Black Ops. I feel really lucky because I will never have to experience those games ever.

COD4 was great.. MW2 was absolutely laughable. "Go get the missile launcher on the roof" -- I guess that sells millions of copies. EDIT -- COD1, 2 and 4 were pretty good even though I despise the series now. And no, I am not jumping on the bandwagon. Give me Witcher, Metro 2033 and Elder Scrolls over any COD/HALO shovelware. To think we'll be getting AT LEAST one to two COD games every year now is just depressing. Two or more COD games per year + $15 map packs + millions sold = IQ test (We fail)
i know it's not a game, but buying nexon cash for maplestory when i was in like 7th grade. why i gave money just to have special virtual hair or clothes, i'll never know.
Bad Company 2, wasn't anywhere near as fun as it should of been, still MUCH MUCH MUCH prefer the first.
X3: Reunion and X3: Terran Conflict. Sure, great games. But the learning curve is insane, it takes hours to fly across the game, and in TC, for some reason, the autopilot doesn't fly at maximum speed or even use SETA (time compression). So it takes even longer to autopilot across the game than it does to just yaw a little towards the next gate. Ridiculous. The 'easiest' story line starts you out with an OK fighter, a few missions, and then it suddenly turns into 'nearly impossible'. They also give you a light scout aircraft, except your fighter comes tuned up, so it is almost twice as fast. Said light scout is also actually cheaper than any guns you might be able to mount on it if you wanted it to fly with you. I really tried to love this game, but it made it so hard for me. Never actually played Reunion much; but my experiences with TC have twisted my heart. The need of boarding marines for stealing capital ships was also lame as heck. This game would own if you could capture a ship singlehandedly with some sort of FPS mode, sort of like Parkan 2 if anyone has played that. I'm sure there is a mod to fix these problems, but I just installed a cheat mod and teleported my fleet around since it let me get to the fun parts faster, without endless cruising in between.
I wish i didn't buy Area 51,(it became free right?) and Freedom Fighters(I loved that game and would recommend it to anyone, it's just that it doesn't run on my newer computers for some reason.) Oh, and Command and Conquer 3
dead rising 1 and 2 don't really know why but it may be the time limit subconsciously ruining the game for me you have enough time but i hate being constrained like that...

Versatility does not equal overpoweredness.
CoD was good when it was about the great campaign and straightforward multiplayer, now its just about gibbing hoards of moronic enemies in SP and seeing point numbers flying onto the screen and getting unlocks every two rounds in MP, then paying 15 bucks for maps from the previous game that took like 10 minutes to port over. I would have liked and had more respect for Modern Warfare two had Activision not had such high opinions of their games. I mean you're basically paying 59.99 for a game thats basically a rehash. Its been like two years before they even dropped their price by 10 bucks, even even 10 bucks is pretty whopedy-fucking-doo. Had it been dropped in price faster I'd have more respect for it, but clearly activision thinks their games are hot shit so they sell them at a price that says "this game is of superior quality" and it's not.
This. CoD4 was amazing. And theres no denying that. If you dont like cod4. Then it's because you are on the bandwagon or have bad taste.
...or you just have your own opinion?

I'd never play it online by myself though.
starcraft 2
I'm well aware that I'm in the minority here but I thought Starcraft 2 wasn't even half as good as everyone else has made it out to be. Don't get me wrong it's not bad by any means, the SP mission design and army-building, as well as the overall attention to detail outside the missions was absolutely fantastic, in addition to the story (seriously, I'm convinced that the Starcraft series has by far the best storytelling in any RTS to date) but I just didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped that I would. It's old-school, and not in a way I enjoy, maybe I've been playing too much CoH and DoW2 but the combat doesn't seem to have much depth outside 'spam unit y or x and make damn sure your spam's larger than your foes'. It's a pretty bog-standard RTS affair, highly reminiscent of the days of AoE, which seems too much like a step backwards to me.
