Uhh if you have friends mw2 can be lots of fun, I play every week or so with a few friends and we have a blast! I'd never play it online by myself though.
I do have to agree, having friends to play with made the game hilarious to me. before a friend sold his PS3, me and another would sometimes hop onto a match with him. It usually devolved into us trolling any children we heard, or if we were that bored, cornered people with Riot Shields (I am surprised how many people don't understand their weakness still). The game may not be great, or lived up to the hype at all, but that doesn't make it a steaming pile of garbage straight away, there are much, much worse games out there. I kind of regret buying TF2 now, but at the same time I don't care. The game provided me well over a hundred hours of gameplay I think, even after sitting in my library uninstalled due to my shitty PC, I managed to enjoy it. But the more recent changes, specifically the stupid amount of hats and weapons being added, have made it annoying to play, I didn't mind the class updates that added weapons that fitted the classes, but that just doesn't happen anymore it seems.
I quite liked TF2, the updates did ruin it, but it still gave me 430 hours of fun gameplay.
Mafia 2 and Joe's Adventures DLC Modern Warfare 2
Red faction guerilla!
Why? That game was great.
Spore. It just ... didn't work for me.
I'm well aware that I'm in the minority here but I thought Starcraft 2 wasn't even half as good as everyone else has made it out to be. Don't get me wrong it's not bad by any means, the SP mission design and army-building, as well as the overall attention to detail outside the missions was absolutely fantastic, in addition to the story (seriously, I'm convinced that the Starcraft series has by far the best storytelling in any RTS to date) but I just didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped that I would. It's old-school, and not in a way I enjoy, maybe I've been playing too much CoH and DoW2 but the combat doesn't seem to have much depth outside 'spam unit y or x and make damn sure your spam's larger than your foes'. It's a pretty bog-standard RTS affair, highly reminiscent of the days of AoE, which seems too much like a step backwards to me.
It's like that due to it being the #1 standardised rts game series. If there were weird changes to gameplay that made it different to the original, I feel that it would tamper with the corporate and professional side of what made SC1 a huge success.
Portal 2 Half Life 2 Every elderscrolls And diablo 3 will live up to the hype. And of course there are ALOT more games that have lived up to their hype. But couldn't bother to write them all down.
Portal 2 was just as boring as portal 1. I'll give you half life 2. Never played any elderscrolls, and how will you know if a game lives up to its hype if you've never played it, seriously?
Spore. Far Cry 2. Assassin's Creed.
I regret buying Homefront, the singleplayer was to short and was just plain bad, the multiplayer was good but for the first few weeks it had horrible horrible lag and even after the patch the server browser lag wasn't fixed and that's what was preventing me from playing the multiplayer the most. At least I got metro 2033 with it that was an awesome game.
Spore was shit
Spore was shit
Understatement of the year 2011.
Portal 2 was just as boring as portal 1. Never played any elderscrolls, and how will you know if a game lives up to its hype if you've never played it, seriously?

The original bioshock and gta4
:frog:
Understatement of the year 2011.
Understatement of the year, every year. Spore never really was that great of a game. I, for one, regret purchasing: CoD: MW2 Spore I usually look into a game before I buy it, but Spore and MW2 were so overhyped I should have just let them slide.
Just Cause 2. Now before you all hate me and wish death upon me and violate me while I sleep, let me tell you a little secret. I am a perfectionist; before I can muck about in an open world game, it's the story for me! But this game's story is so bad. It isn't interesting, doesn't use any of the game's good mechanics, and it's just generic. Also I have too many Steam games I need to beat, and I'll be fucked if I'm going to play more of this
The voice acting Oh god the voice acting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5o0XOFrFOVI
The voice acting Oh god the voice acting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5o0XOFrFOVI
The voice acting was complete shite, but I have to admit I still play it almost every week
Call of Duty: Black Ops - Do I even have to explain this one? Only good thing about it was Zombies. Frontlines: Fuel of War - This game blew pretty badly. For those of you who haven't played it, think Homefront, they're remarkably similar. Supreme Commander 2 - If I had known it was going to be as bad as it is, I wouldn't have preordered it. Dawn of War 2 - They fucking ruined DoW. Fallout 3: GOTY - Not that it was a bad game, but there was only 1 good DLC, and another one that didn't completely blow donkey cock, the other 3 were pretty bad, wish I got the game and DLC that I wanted separately, saved some cash. Bad Company 2 - Not the worst game ever, but not worth the 50 bucks I paid for it. Splinter Cell: Conviction - Again, not a bad game, but nowhere near as good as the original SC games, and not worth 50 bucks.
My avatar summaries my reply.
Even though I regret buying each CoD, I always buy them, and I tell myself I won't buy the next one, I said that after WaW
Modern Warfare 2 - Generally boring after the first prestige, too many CoD elitists bragging over 360 noscopes and kills they cannot fathom over with their tiny brains. Black Ops - Same as Modern Warfare 2 Just Cause 2 - It was made out to look pretty good, and graphics-wise it was pretty good looking, otherwise gameplaywas just a drag to actually cling on to, it just got really boring, really fast. Turning Point: Fall of Liberty - Possibly the worst game ever created, severely bad design, flawed in ever single way imaginable.
Am i the only one noticing the Dropped prices on steam? At least for Western europe, 20% has been cut off the price of the usual retail price, it's actually back down at prices that could compete with actual retail. It's not even just weekend offers. It's anything from Pre-order rebates to the actual full price. Dirt 3 - 40€ First Templar - 38€ OFP:RR - 40€ Fable III - 40€ It's as if they listened when the mass hysteria concerning 60€ PC games kicked off and took an extra step back. What gives? these aren't even bad games. Did the devs (publishers) just actually get the hint?
Zombie Driver. Spore. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Silent Hunter: 5. Red Faction: Guerrilla. Borderlands. Fort Zombie.
GTA4. Made the stupid mistake of buying it on the Xbox Marketplace and it doesn't work. Microsoft won't refund my $30 either. They told me to get faster internet, but I've downloaded other games, demos, arcade games ect. with no problems. GTA4 wont even start to download before it cancels and says it cannot be downloaded. :argh:
I hate how people who never even heard of Call of Duty prior to Modern Warfare 2 think that jumping on the "I hate COD hurrdurr" bandwagon makes them cool and popular. Highly evidenced by the current Call of Duty megathread. Call of Duty 1, 2, and 4 are some truly great games. Modern Warfare 2, ignoring the lack of dedicated servers, wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be, but it definitely isn't as good for it's time as the first Modern Warfare was in it's time. They overdid it with everything (especially perks and killstreaks), ruined the fantastic story of the first Modern Warfare, and then asked me to pay another $30 for 10 extra maps. Not good. So far, I really like the multiplayer of Black Ops, they really seem to have balanced out the perks and equipment and killstreaks, and the game actually takes skill to play. People who complain about the AK74u don't understand that it is supposed to be a baby-step below an assault rifle with the mobility and range of a submachine gun. Versatility does not equal overpoweredness.
I disagree, I loved Call of Duty, and Call of Duty: United Offensive a lot to the point I pre-ordered the second. Those were really great games, and when Call of Duty 2 came out, it hardly had any of the great content that its predecessors had(come on, it was fun as hell to use MG's, why didn't they have that in the second one?) I haven't played the first MW multiplayer, but from spending 200+ hours in MW2 MP, I can say I'm actually very thankful for the non-dedicated server setup they have. I already get banned by 13 year old USI-filled little shits enough as it is, I just want to play the game damn game the way it was meant to be played without your stupid shit rules. Black Ops's SP was a pretty cool experience, but the MP is so bad it isn't even funny, and what's even more funny is all the MW2 players crying out "omg they fixed all the problems that ruined MW2!" Black Ops's MP is terrible because it feels like you're constantly playing on a very un-steady, crash-prone alpha. It's not smooth, like MW2(when it actually chooses a good host, that is), it's very finnicky, and laggy all the time. They still haven't even fixed the glitch where your assault rifle will just stop firing without further notice and lock up for a good 5 seconds, not even allowing you to switch weapons. Not to mention that all the MW2 type players have of course moved on to Black Ops, and if you don't follow their specific retarded rules on their server(Crouch only? Snipers only? No flamethrower? No AK74u? etc.), they ban you. The spawning system is absolutely shit, and you can still "quick-scope" and "noob-tube" in the game, with an added "flamenoob" attachment(I don't mind these myself, but it's just so dumb to see people say they've fixed those issues, when they are just game mechanics, or design by default if you will)
Black Ops. I don't know why, but the MP just couldn't hold me for as long as MW2 did.
This. CoD4 was amazing. And theres no denying that. If you dont like cod4. Then it's because you are on the bandwagon or have bad taste.
Sir, there is a difference between liking a game and thinking it's good. For instance, Codename Gordon. I think it's a good game, but I don't like it. Similarly, taste is best measured on what games you think are good, not what games you like.
Portal 2 cause valve gave me it for free when it launched :v:
Dragon Age 1 I love RPG games but with this one I just could not get into it
piece of shit called elven legacy.
KOTOR just cant get in to it
KOTOR just cant get in to it
KOTOR was the game that got me into WRPGS, before that it was all JRPGS.
Homefront.
