Do you happen to know how much longer the site will be down? Every time I go there, I just get a blank screen, no error or anything. Oh, and are the pages for games being fixed too?
I haven't been informed on how long the site will be down, sorry.
But I do know that Tom is securing the site and doing some updates, so that's most likely why he isn't opening it just yet.
TL;DR - Security reasons.
Oh thank god, i was wondering what was happening to FPSB.
Good thing Facepunch is here to save the day, no joke.
AVG found some trojans.
C:\bndafai
C:\mcxa
C:\rggbw
Can anyone confirm that these are viruses or false-positives?
judging from those names (gibberish) and that they are positioned in C:\, DELETE THEM RIGHT NOW!
FPSBanana needs to get their shit together. This was another one of their quad-yearly virus attacks.
I cannot access the site at all atm
Oh fuck oh fuck oh FFFFFUUUUUU-! I recently went on FPSB to download my friend's HL2 map, I googled Black Virus Trojan and it said smss.exe. I opened my task manager thingy and i found an smss oohh I am deeply screwed am I?
I have this too, and my sisters computer too, and my brothers too, AND MY FRIENDS! :aaaaa:
This is the session manager subsystem, which is responsible for starting the user session. This process is initiated by the main system thread and is responsible for various activities, including launching the Winlogon and Win32 (Csrss.exe) processes, and setting system variables. After it has launched these processes, it waits for either Winlogon or Csrss to end. If this happens normally, the system shuts down; if it happens unexpectedly, Smss.exe causes the system to stop responding (hang).
Note: The smss.exe file is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32. In other cases, smss.exe is a virus, spyware, trojan or worm! Check this with Security Task Manager.
FPSB is back online.
So the virus is gone now right? I just want to make sure, or my family will kill me if i get a virus on this computer.
I went on it to log in to make a spray... a warning took me to the RWSOD (Red Warning Screen of Danger) and I came out of it. No harm was really done but I suggest you people don't go there since it will mess with your computer if you do.
Is a "server error" when trying to visit Facepunch, a symptom?

That's been happening to me a lot too, but I haven't found evidence of a virus in my computer. Could be a problem with the site.
don't worry, they'll get another virus soon. they always do
so it IS safe right now right?
It is safe...for now.
FPSbanana is never safe.
I have my Avast set on screensaver so it scans everytime i'm alseep (Yes i have my PC running 24/7). So i'm safe.
I'm using Opera, no adblock thing, been browsing FPSBanana while the virus was there, didn't caught anything.
Antivirus : GData.
I've been on it multiple times, no antivirus =[, but still no iexplorer.exe or virus at all EDIT: oh shit, something just opened 37 microsoft outlook installations :downs:
Atleast the Steam Forums finally made something nice :v:
Wait, so would I still be safe if I went into it with Firefox and ABP?
Download trojans free from FPSBanana! The viruses are limited, so grab one while you can!
Too late for me.
It really fucked up some of my shit.
is it safe yet? :ohdear:

Yes, though some of the ads in FPSbanana can be a dangerous, so you better should use a Adblocker (Adblock Plus, NoFlash and NoScript for Firefox work great.)
Oh god, I just accidentally clicked on my FPSB bookmark, but I stopped the page before it was done loading. I'm safe, right? :ohdear:
Edited:
Never mind, I just read all the post and apparently It's gone, for now. I'm still running scans just in case.

Run a full scan on your computer with Microsoft Security Essentials.
