Anyone else notice all that troll news?
What?
My computer was acting funny yesterday with symptoms similar to those posted by the OP. I ran a scan with Norton and Spybot S&D and restarted my computer and seemed to take care of it.
I have deleted those two files anyway. No way they are legit being in that directory.
I went there the other day ( I think) but i dont have the trojan, but still, :ohdear:
I have norton installed and noscript, only hearing of thanks to you :buddy:
I had some virus that made another iexplore.exe in the list
i had something like
iexplore.exe 36627kt
iexplore.exe 15062
And i had only one running.
I solved it out, solution: Use another browser.
I just talked to Tom. He was unaware of the issue, he is looking into it.
I went on FPSbanana and downloaded a few skins last night but don't seem to have gotten anything, I love thee ad-block plus
Dear god your a fool. Macs can still get viruses, it's just that since there is so few Mac users that virus makers rarely make them for it, they want the "big-catch". Windows still has 93% of the market
I hope to god someone will make a great mac virus so we can all go "PC lol"
I just talked to Tom. He was unaware of the issue, he is looking into it.
Alright, sweet.
Need to find alternatives for fps banana.
A certain TF2 emporium site needs to get finished. I won't say any names, though. :v:
Found a way that fixed it for me in Firefox.
1. End iexplorer.exe every time it reappears in Task Manager
2. Install the NoScript addon if you use Firefox
3. Go to Internet Explorer and disable saving cookies entirely
4. Scan with Spybot S&D or another antispyware program, it should find one or two cases.
Even though I had AdBlock Plus, it still got in. It's safer to go with NoScript. Also, Don't click the ads at all, including the X. Use Alt-F4 or Task Manager to end the program.
G'luck to whoever has it.
Yeah sometimes, it's not the website itself that is infected. It's the ad agency that supplies their ads not being careful enough.

macs do get viruses its just that they dont get them as often well back on track i may have been infected what are the symptoms of the virus??
I'm currently scanning my computer and I got so many Adware tracking cookies. May or may not be just from FPSBanana.
Guys, I know you probably know, but download Ares. It is a third party browser, and torrenter. It does everything remotely so you don't need to use YOUR browser and it downloads FROM ITS OWN SERVER! It does not get ANY viruses.
To detect infection, look for loader.exe in your processes.
Well it says I can see hidden files and folders but I still can't find C:/Users/usernamehere/appdata/local/temp.
Ok, so I just checked my XP machine and there is two possible places I see it could be in. First try the local settings folder which has a temp folder in it. I think that this is where it is most likely to be located in.
C:\users\usernamehere\local settings\temp
If nothing is in the temp folder there is also another folder called application data in local settings you can check, so be sure to check it as well.
C:\users\usernamehere\local settings\application data
The second more unlikely spot is in the coincidentally named Application data folder in another location.
C:\users\usernamehere\application data
I do not think this is where it is though but might be worth it to check it anyways.
I have winlogon.exe is that a virus?
What about rundll32.exe? I have 2 rundll32.exe's running.
I accidently went there for 2 seconds but I left.
I don't have 2 iExplorer.exe running, does that mean im safe?
And I don't have smss or loader...
Ugh, why is it that FPSbanana is ALWAYS attacked?
It's because they took down xCloud01's great giant horse dong bat replacement model. In under 10 minutes. Really!
Run your browser inside http://www.sandboxie.com/ for pre-protection.
I have winlogon.exe is that a virus?

Fuck I have two rundll32.exe running too.
Other instances of WINLOGON.EXE:
1) winlogon.exe is a process which is registered as a trojan. This Trojan allows attackers to access your computer from remote locations, stealing passwords, Internet banking and personal data. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system.
FUCK I tried logging into Steam but it said I had internet problems. Oh god.
Edit:
I can't end the process anyone know How to force terminate it? :frown:
I just downloaded twenty skins from the Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch sections. No signs yet.
To anyone who has iexplorer.exe running in background:
Start in safe mode
Run ComboFix
Done :c00l:
isn't winlogon.exe is only a thread if all letters are capitalized?
Is it done yet? Because will it do any harm if I just go onto the site?

I'm gonna try that with my problem and see if it fixes it. :ohdear: I'm praying to god my steam account wasn't touched, because when I tried to log in using my laptop, it said the same internet connection error occured. That is some relief though 'cause then its more of an internet issue than getting hacked. Still.. :frown:
Edit:
Well, seems like I overreacted. Nod32 and Malwarebytes both didn't pick up anything, and I googled intensely, to find out that Vista can run two rundll32.exe processes at a time. And if you're ever come across suspicious processes, go to C:\Windows\System32 and right click taskmgr.exe and run as administrator. It'll let you open up any process' location.
This is just great...why is it this happens whenever you need to go on Banana
I do have smss.exe running. That, is the windows right? There isn't two of them and loader is there.
Everyone, don't worry, the virus is gone from the site, so there's no chance of being affected again.
I'm the Game Moderator on FPSB, and word from Tom, the site owner, is that he removed it this morning.
Thank you.
I hate how many viruses this website gets. It is a great website but who ever runs it needs to check the ads or something.
We do not control the ads directly, so they are hard to filter properly.
But to our own defense, let me just say that we do have a lot of haters who attacks the site from time to time. So it's not only ads that does it.

Is this man legit?
I think that you can pretty much assume that if FPSB is up, it'll have viruses.
