I'm paranoid to go to FPSBanana now. Any alternate sites out there?
It's gone people.
Also to op's comment: [img_thumb]http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa181/breadlord5/Untitlenadhjvbqkjvbi.jpg[/img_thumb]
I tried going on fpsbanana, and it wouldn't load at all, the microsoft thing saying it was malicious came up, this was before this thread, so I wasn't stupid and decided to try it, it was merely to look at my profile.
Shit, I wondered why I kept hearing air freshener ads while playing CS lol.
Ok, so if the site is working again, why do I get a "Problem loading page" screen every time I go there? I can get to other sites just fine, never had safe mode on, so I think there's still a problem, unless the site is still being fixed...
Everyone, don't worry, the virus is gone from the site, so there's no chance of being affected again. I'm the Game Moderator on FPSB, and word from Tom, the site owner, is that he removed it this morning. Thank you. -Kosai106. We do not control the ads directly, so they are hard to filter properly. But to our own defense, let me just say that we do have a lot of haters who attacks the site from time to time. So it's not only ads that does it.
I posted about it here already, but apparently everyone ignored.

Why is this site attacked so much? I go on this site for maps but this is just... stupid, why do people have nothing bettter to do with their lives than attack sites? Anyway for the safety of my PC. I will never be going on FPSBanana again.. :(
Why is this site attacked so much? I go on this site for maps but this is just... unbelievable. Never going on FPSBanana again.. :(
It's safe now, it only gets attacked due to the unmonitored advertisements and various haters who don't like FPSBanana, to whom I would say "Go back to your boring sv_pure 2 servers, you jackasses!"
is it safe now? :ohdear:
isn't winlogon.exe is only a thread if all letters are capitalized?
Is this true or not because I currently have it running in processes.
It's safe now.
I got a shit load of trojans when I went on the other day. It kept throwing me off tf2 and making me lose round and round of TF2Ware. There was also a mysterious Process with a random string of numbers. Killed it, AVG sorted the problem. Well atleast It's safe now.
Is this true or not because I currently have it running in processes.
I'd run a scan or 2 if I were you. :downs:

I dont see the point of sv_pure anyway....
Deserves a million agrees. I dont see the point of sv_pure anyway....
To me, it's just a distraction for people to rage over while Half-Life 2: Episode Three continues to be horribly delayed.
I just accidentally went to the site, but couldn't find any of those two files. Is it gone?
I just accidentally went to the site, but couldn't find any of those two files. Is it gone?
It's been gone for several hours.
Ok good.
FUCKFUCKFUCK paranoid again. I'm running another scan.
The one I had installed to my temp folder and kept renaming itself a bunch of random letters like "93eiurhewr3rheu.exe"
I'm running a scan right now, but ever since..2 days ago, I haven't been able to run TF2 or any Steam game, I keep getting "Game is unavailable". Steam still works though. Ugh I'm pretty scared, I already had to wipe my HDD due to a virus about 4 months ago, I don't want to do this again. edit: this is my task manager. i have explorer.exe, but that should be just the normal app running. edit2: just ended the process for rundll32, as i only had one. am i infected if i have one or two, or not at all?
Is this true or not because I currently have it running in processes.
I think it's a normal process that a trojan can attach itself to.
So is there a clearcut way of removing it?
If I use No-Script and Ad Blocker on FF, will I be alright?
So is there a clearcut way of removing it?
I dont know. Try malwarebytes. It's a free virus scanner.
So does anyone have a list of all the confirmed viruses form this? I'm gonna get Malwarebytes tomorrow to sate my paranoia, but temporarily I need to know what to look for. Also, what was that about Win 7 and "turning off" IE? I'd like to know how to do that.
When I start, Steam opens up 8 explorer windows, Word opens up Xzip or whatever, and I get like 10 fucking Caution messages telling me that editiong ApplicationExtension(.dll) may... blah blah blah. and the options are cancel and "open with..." The caution thing doesn't show up in the taskbar. I remember going on FPSbanana around the time this thread came up. What do I do?
