Those dual pistol texture look pretty bad.I like the dinos tho
That... looks pretty bad to be honest. Raptor control looks clumsy as shit and the FOV for the trapper is ridiculously low. Nevermind that it just doesn't really look all that fun to play right now. Seriously hoping it's still in alpha or something.
Bumping, because PREORDERS ARE NOW OPEN! http://www.primalcarnage.com/website/ Preorder for $14.99USD, and we get a sweet Raptor skin(Feathered Raptor)! Plus, access to the Beta when it starts!
Neat.
Also, it's available on Steam right now! For preordering, comes with the skin as well.
Wow pretty good price for the game. I might just preorder. I was expecting $30 or so.
Pre-ordered it ! Oh wait... ?
Pre-ordered it ! Oh wait... ?
Yeah, that was just a goof, they updated it so the game cannot be started, since they have no servers up, since the beta hasn't started. If I knew Steam was gonna do the preorder thing, I would have done so on Steam instead of Gamestop... I have my key for Steam anyway, doesn't matter much to me.
I don't know about you guys but I look forward to playing as a HUMAN, something about taking down a dinosaur appeals to me.

I rather take out the meat bag with 2 arms and 2 legs that carries around that thing that shoots metal. Feels like a challenge.
I hope they add in a Team Deathmatch thing in that doesn't restrict humans and dinosaurs, I can just imagine the pyro of the class going to sneak up on the sniper only for raptor bro to jump out and naw him to death
I just want to point out to anyone considering to buy this that I've had an absolutely awful experience with the developers. Story time: Back in 2010 the developers opened up a donator page, which was set up very similar to today's kickstarter pages - there was 3 tiers and you donating different amounts would score you different perks. I chose to pay $20 for one that promised access to a private section on their forum where donators can read regular content updates, get the beta, and the final game. Almost 2 years past and every few weeks I'd look on their forum to see what was going on, but there was never anything going on. The only updates that would come out would be after every 3-4 months, and while some were pretty nice, a lot were complete crap for how long it took them to show anything. Eventually updates die out and another concerned donator posts up a thread asking where the love for donators was. I make a few calm posts every couple of weeks suggesting that they post more updates, even if it was just a small blog on what they were working on. Every time I did this I'd either be replied to with a promise that more content was coming soon (which never did, at least not until months later), or I'd be ignored. So a few more months pass, and I'm agitated about how they kept breaking their promise, so I make a post in the thread in a more upset tone, mainly in hope that it'll catch some proper attention unlike previous posts. I point out that as an indie developer it's a good idea to keep good contact with their community. To highlight this, I compare what they have gave their donators compared to some other indie developers in terms of keeping in contact with the community. After this post is where shit happens though. A bunch of 12 year olds start accusing me of feeling entitled. Note that I didn't feel entitled to anything more than the developers promised on the donate page, but the whole point of my posts on the forum was to get the devs to start interacting with the community a bit more. A bit later the level designer on their team sees my post. This is part of the response I get:
Becoming an annoyance because you feel you are justified is getting a little tiring for all concerned. Being a Donator does NOT make you are shareholder in the organisation or in anyway etitled to make decisions; and all rights or privileges as a Donator are completely subject to change or revision by Lukewarm Media. Deal with it.
I found this to be very unprofessional to hear from a developer of the team, not only because of how he worded his post, but also because of how he completely ignored the fact that I was trying to help them. This guy then closed the only thread in the forum which allowed us to express concern. Basically they'd rather shut off their community instead of taking in some suggestions and being decent about the whole thing. Just as a reference, here's what their donator page looked like: http://web.archive.org/web/20100417071607/http://www.primalcarnage.com/website/donations TL;DR, I try to suggest that the devs communicate with their community, one of the devs takes this as a demand instead of a suggestion, and proceeds to tell me that they have the right to provoke any and all donator rights and for me to deal with it.
So I found this a while ago by complete accident (was looking for pictures of a liopleurodon)
This is a Zsculpt I made of a Liopleurodon for an upcoming indie title from Lukewarm Media called Primal Carnage
http://www.antonkozlov.com/3DGallery/Lio.html

While it was very unprofessional of him to respond that way (However, you didn't actually tell us exactly what YOU said). I'm not going to let the fact that somebody said something mean on the Internet stop me from buying this fun looking game.
The point isn't what he said, it's that they would rather do that than actually consider taking 5 minutes to write up an update. I'm not saying not to buy the game or anything, especially when the game looks fun. I'm just sharing my experience.
Not to mention the devs probably didn't have anything to do with it. I guess you were really annoying, considering you posted every few weeks asking for an update. They probably hire people to do the moderating. Also, link to the post.
CAD actually managed to make a funny about this game.
To be honest I enjoy games about shooting dinosaurs as much as playing as one.
To be honest I enjoy games about shooting dinosaurs as much as playing as one.
I'm still waiting for another Jurassic Park FPS. Trespasser (no matter how buggy it was) is a great game.
receiver should be the next trespasser
Judging from the footage we've seen, the experience is quite different when you are a dinosaur and when you are a human. Beyond the obvious, it seems a lot more "scary" as a human. You don't have as much connection with your fellows as you do as a dinosaur, so being lost in the jungle on a night map should be pretty intense.
Speaking of unprofessional developers, I remember at PAX East I was playing this and some chick dressed as Alice from that "Alice: madness returns" game started playing next to me. One of the developers came up to her and started acting creepy and even tried to give her a back rub. So yeah. I also asked one of the people at their booth where to sign up for the beta (they had a computer somewhere) and he basically told me to fuck off. Awesome game though. Played it for like two hours.

Looked awesome from the Dino perspective.

The dilophosaurus player was really crafty, running in and out of the jungle, spitting shit onto the camera guy's face and attacking while he was blinded. By the time the blind ended, the dino was gone again, just to attack from another angle. Seems really intense for the humans.
Well, the Beta is LIVE for those who were Donators to Lukewarmmedia and the game itself way before preorders opened! http://www.twitch.tv/lukewarmmedia/b/333277570 There's a stream of the Beta. One new map was added, the Docks, spawn menus were changed, main menu looks nice, and I cannot wait for my turn in the beta! Preorderers have to wait until another date, supposedly one week from yesterday.
I am currently downloading the beta. Time to see if my money was well spent
Wasn't there a thread for a very similar game a few months ago?
Gonna buy this tomorrow!
