Donator's Beta Gameplay

From playing the beta for about an hour, and not being able to stand playing it any more, I have to say this game is incredibly boring and average. The combat is just incredibly uninteresting. MAYBE once more players get on (I was playing with about 10 other people), it'll spice things up a bit.
Natural Selection 2 would be a much better buy.
They did a good job in the modelling and animation department though, that's the only praise I can give this.

Because this isn't [B]THE[/B] open beta.
It's for all of the Donators, which doesn't seem like many even donated in the first place, as even on the Primal Carnage official forums, they say there isn't a bunch of people on at a time, too.
Also, the servers are taking hits, as this early beta for Donators is also for stress testing the servers.
I'm sure the beta for preorderers will have many more players, and hopefully servers will be able to handle the amount of people it will be getting.
I wonder if Donators will still receive the special Donator-Only Class [sp]Sarcosuchus[/sp]

You think I got access into the beta and didn't know that? That's the whole reason I mentioned it might get more lively once more players turn up.
Also if the servers are taking hits when there's only like 30 players total at any time then it's worrisome. (Though I didn't have any issues with the servers)
That beta video was boring as hell.
What a god damned shame, I guess we're just not meant to have a good PC dinosaur shooting game.

I disagree, NS2 is probably my biggest regret of a purchase. It's a laggy, unoptimized piece of shit that I just can't have any fun with.

You obviously haven't played it in the past year because none of that is an issue now. And if it is you need to check to see if you meet the minimum specs

I just played today, and I should definitely be meeting minimum specs, as I was playing with every graphics option at it's lowest.

I'm hoping for some kind of survival mode and AI. I'd love to just wander the island with an ecosystem, AKA be what JP: Trespasser wasn't.
I have the beta. I think it's open for people who pre-ordered now. The game is pretty fun, still a bit buggy for some part but it's nice.
I enjoy it, but there are very few players and few servers. Definitely needs some work though, games are very laggy, a soft jungle beat during the game would be much appreciated. The dinosaur animations are a tad choppy. some lighting bugs, some general optimization would be good too.
This game was so much for me and I had so many awesome moments in it. Playing Human and Dinos are equally fun. Stalking as a Raptor or getting chased by T-Rex. This game just needs more work put into it to fix bugs, balance the gameplay, and Improve overall everything else (sound effects, voices, chatting, UI). I love this game. Also for full Human terror the best map is Airfield or w/e its called. Running away from a T-Rex and hearing its footsteps chasing you is freakin' terrifying.
Steam Preorders are allowed into the Beta now, but if you preordered elsewhere(like me) you have to wait for an email from wherever you preordered with your legit steam key.
But, last night Lukewarm streamed the game, and I snagged a key off there(they were being grabbed milliseconds after being posted).
My impressions are good, Dinos are fun, the humans are familiar, way too much lag, but the Devs said they were addressing it in a weekend patch.
As someone who likes and plays Dino D-Day, I am loving this and I love my poor taste
Played some of the beta (donated two years ago)and I have to agree with PieClock on this. It's incredibly boring.
Also PieClock, your thread asking for some dev interaction/communication was hilarious with all the kids yelling at you. I felt bad and completely agreed with you about the lack of interaction or any communication with the devs. Not to mention I have some terrible experience with the devs myself.

Uh, I'm not even sure if I can talk about since when it happened I was under NDA.
I dunno what you guys mean about "boring". Played 2 hours straight on all the maps, I've seriously enjoyed myself.
And the server I was on had about 24 people, so it was fun AND hectic.
I'm a damn good Rex, too, went 27-5 in one match, and 18-1 in another.
Trappers need to realize covering the head doesn't stop the feet from crushing them.
The Rex destroys everything pretty easily.

But he himself can only take so much damage. 5 people aiming at the Rex = one dead rex.
I use the Rex as an ambusher, while Carnos, Raptors, and Pteras harass the human players, I like taking the rex and sprinting through the center, I usually get 2-3 kills from running through 'em, then I stop and eat the remainder, or assist the other Dinos.
The Rex isn't invincible, and being a lone wolf Rex will only get you killed. A trapper can disable the Rex's sprint and eating, and commandos can mop him up with the grenade launcher.
So am I the only one who can't find even a single server when trying to play this game?
