I can't seem to join any of the official servers, they always time out.
So I played a few games. I really suck at playing as the dinosaurs. The game would be more fun if it weren't so laggy.
I am enjoying myself heartily. Bulldozing crowds over with the carnotaurus is just too much fun.

Was just wondering if anyone has a problem with servers timing out? I sure have.
Tried all the troubleshooting ,including the masterserver2 thing.
Im only able to join dedicated servers ,not the official ones.
The dedicated ones either lag like hell or i get kicked after 5 minutes.
After my first install i could play for a couple of hours though.
The game is freakin awesome for those of you who are sceptical.
If you like dinosaurs you`ll love this game.
Sadly i cannot play anymore ,due to these connection issues :rolleyes:

Where do you live? Starting to think its because
there`s no european servers yet except dedicated ones.

Let textures stay on low. Its an issue being discussed on the forum as we speak.
Its a Beta version of the game. This game needs some heavy promotion.
I had more fun in two hours in this game than i have had for 3 months in battlefield 3.
EA kind of fucks up every game they touch.
This looks ridiculously fun.
I really like dinosaurs, but seeing as Dino D-Day and all the other recent games that include dinosaurs have failed, I do not see any great potential in here.

This is tons better than Dino D-Day.
And I have no server issues, I run at between 30-50 FPS 1366x768, the framerate only drops when there's over 20 people in a server.
I am the best at Rex. Rex is the definite Ambush class. On the Docks map, the rest of the Dino team was harassing the humans on the west side of the map, I snuck around behind the nearby factory, ran through them, trampled a bunch, and ate two of 'em.
It's also hilarious when the Rex runs out of stamina, it walks like it has to take a dump.

One of the Pteros decided to drop me off on the crane, so I just sat up there taking shots and dinosaurs. I managed to piss of a dilophosaur who switched to Ptero and spent the rest of the time coming at me :v:
When I found out how to long-range spit as the Dilo, I spent a whole match just messing with people halfway across Utility Base. They all kept coming after me and dying to the raptors.
Anyone else having issues connecting to servers, I seems I can only join dedicated servers. The official servers just time out on the official servers.

The recent patch released made the raptors take 1 more second when jump-attacking to kill someone, plus their normal attack does less damage. The pterodactyl does more damage now. They fixed the issue with crashing due to changed options and the game starting in windowed mode. I've also noticed an increase in fps.
The game seems way more smooth than it was, although I noticed this when I hosted a game to see the improvements. On servers there's still a bit of net lag.

Is that the 1.0.0.8 patch or 1.0.0.7?
The game just got updated to 1.0.0.8.
The lead dev joined a server I was on, and apparently he's planning on making a snowy map, this should be interesting.
He's already dropped many a hint that a Beach map is coming, too.
And early concept art showed a large indoor Lab facility.
I played a few more rounds today, and goddamn it was fun. With less lag and more "I actually know what the hell I'm doing", I got more than a few kills per round. I found it the most fun to be a Raptor or Dilo.

I like being a Rex or Carno, sometimes a Ptero
One thing that does bother me about the game... On Utility Base at least, is that it's sometimes impossible to regroup as humans when the dinos kill a bunch of you. You just get picked off at spawn.
I think it's because Utility doesn't have the random spawn locations of Docks, I haven't tried Airbase yet, but I can guess it's just the same.

I haven't been able to play dinosaur yet, but I've found my favorite human class is easily the trapper due to the ability to incapacitate dinosaurs, especially satisfying to net a pterodactyl out of the air whilst it's carrying off a teammate.
The game is a lot of fun but it really seems pre-alpha.
