just an FYI you can get it for £20.25 on Greenmangaming if you use this promo code "GMG25-55FJ7-ADQ3P" you still get some of the pre-order goodies as from the steam store but not all of them, but at only £20 I ain't bothered.
do I get the BAC Mono?
2 more hours guys!
Well, game works great for me so far with the exception of Alt+tabbing breaking it. Getting a stable 40+FPS on all ultra with 4x antialiasing. The only time the game lags is in the load screens. I like it, though I miss the supportive announcers of the last game. Will upload gameplay footage as soon as I can!

isn't this just an NFSitized TOCA? horrific arcade handling etc never really played the first one because it was so arcadey. only arcade racing i ever liked was the PGR series.

For me, that was part of the fun in it - it was perfectly playable using a controller - but I can understand how it feels to someone used to sims. Overall I'd say this one is only worth buying if you were a fan of a first and then on sale really
To the people who already have it, is the length of the game okay? Can you also tell what has changed compared to GRID 1?
Need for Speed: Grid 2. Exactly what it feels like. They really went more arcade with it as well, though some cars do stick and not all of them naturally drift. If you're a sim fan this game is not for you. Though wow the game looks gorgeous if you take away the shitty HUD(is that chromatic abberation? WHY?), the reflections are amazing in tunnels and everything looks really good. Runs like a dream as well on high with AA on my really average 7770. It's a sequel but a lot of things changed. While grid 1 still tried to retain some of the TOCA feel this went in the completely other direction. There's still a few race circuits but it just stops focusing on "authentic" racing.
Loving this game, played some multiplayer with Contron earlier, now having a break from playing it. Quite like the fact it has split screen on PC, will make it very handy when some friends come over tonight. A tip for those playing it, disable Aero on windows 7, improves FPS heaps.
Where can I find mods for GRID 1? The fov fixes and such? They all seem to be gone. Here's the no UI replay mod https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56479384/Race%20Driver%20Grid%20-%20No%20Replay%20UI.rar
Not sure if you know about or have already checked this site, there's GRID section with some liveries & tool mods. http://www.rallygamer.com/downloads.html
There's nothing of use over there, were the old GRID forum never archived?
That track in Japan, in the mountainside roads, especially the vehicle challenge to get that one drifty mercedes in tier 3 holy fuck please die aside from that, it's the most fun racing experience I've had in a loooooong time
Very arcadeish. The game is actually pretty shit.
What did you expect? That's how they were labelling it, or at least what I saw anyway especially with no cockpit. You're best just sticking with Project CARS, or at least do more research before pre-ordering something.
http://www.racedepartment.com/forum/resources/cockpit-cameras.331/ Seems like someone added cockpit cameras. "Just for the Ford Mustang Mach 1 Twister Special and the Nissan Silvia S15 for now."
Stupid fucking idiot. Refusing to buy a game and then pirate does not make your point valid.

Sounds like he's making excuses to justify his pirating.
Stupid fucking idiot. Refusing to buy a game and then pirate does not make your point valid.
yeah well not everyone has the spare income they don't work for to afford pre-ordering games that probably won't even ever come out
yeah well not everyone has the spare income they don't work for to afford pre-ordering games that probably won't even ever come out
Did you just say that it's okey to pirate because you're poor or have no money? Also, what? "yeah well not everyone has the spare income they don't work for to afford pre-ordering games that probably won't even ever come out" Who said anything about pre-ordering? Who doesn't work?
Some of the vehicle textures are pretty shoddy and there seems to be a general lack of detail. I don't own the game, although I have played it quite a bit round a friend's house. I can't justify spending £30 on this game. Doesn't seems worth it for what it is.

The PC version looks really really good, a lot better than I expected.
Was this a console or PC version? The PC version looks really really good, a lot better than I expected.
PC version, it was maxed out. The environments looked good. But the cars (especially in bonnet view looked a bit iffy in places.) It could just be me being pedantic.
The bonnets are a bit bad. Especially the application of decals in some areas. But other than that the game looks amazing for a racing game.

It could just be me being pedantic.
I've heard negative comments about the textures of the engine and engine bay itself that I agree with, but I think everything in terms of the car body itself is crisp and high res. The worst thing I've seen in terms of resolution was some pixellated reflections of an object near the game's draw distance limit, but that's not really too noticable.

It looked terrible when I uploaded my videos to youtube.
Uploading it to youtube gives it a nice and shitty quality but it is convenient to quickly save a disastrous crash you just had, as opposed to recording it with fraps or the like.
"only 5% of Codemasters Racing game players ever used the in-car view." I'm sorry what? From where did they gather this data? I play exclusively with the cockpit camera in Codemasters games but have never played one online. They aren't accounting for the entire playerbase - not everyone played online. Especially with GRID considering they shut it down after a pitiful amount of time.
I didn't unless I was in a car with an open cockpit because it was a bad cockpit view. It felt really zoomed out and your windshield only took up a tiny percentage of the screen.
