I like sims 2 better because of i got all the expansions, sims 3 is fucking boring.
Maybe not boring, but dull. There is nothing cool, like aliens, pets and magic. Other than that its still a cool game. But all thoose things was that made it from a cool life simulator to just a life simulator.
i've played it before at someone's house its ok but i wish they would add online just like they did to the sims 1
That was a separate game and was an MMO
The Sims 3 is a great game, but unfortunately I lost my disk so I can't play it anymore. :sigh:
You should include info on the Stuff packs. One's out already and the other was just mentioned by EA a week or so ago.
And for anyone with Sims 3 that wants free items, there's a thread on the Sims 3 forums that have links to a lot of free items that EA has in their Sims Store thing.

New cars, bookshelves, clothes, packs etc.
This has re-interested me in the game. Can you do that to other peoples property?
Yeah, you can blow up any item or piece of furniture that's outside. Only downside is you get fined the items value if it's an item you don't own.
I really feel like buying ambitions, just so I can blow stuff up.
I've got it installed but never really gotten in to it. found it more depressing than the older games. struggling through work week till the weekend when i can spend some time making myself feel better. Real life, perfectly simulated.
I always dreamed of a Sims style game taking place in Medieval times, I don't know why.
It's a fun game, but Maxis just RAPES the public with useless expansion packs. They add like 3 things of clothes, and there you go.
I hopping on the bandwagon and saying EA is responsible for all this milking. Apparently back when EA didn't take candy from children with disabilities, and Maxis was new, they lavished people with free items weekly.
you cant deny that the sims 1 has one of the best soundtracks of any game ever

The memories...... why do we have to grow up :smithicide:
Hopefully the console version will have CO-OP with a friend just like "Sims: Bustin Out" did. I remember spending hours on that shit with my buddies.
I find this boring. The only fun part is building a house and placing furniture.
make a sim have sex and make a video game porno then you won't be
I had a save file for this game. Then one morning, the portrait that normally shows the active family disappeared. When I tried to load it, it said something like "Cannot load this file. Please quit the application."
fuck, my ambitions crashes a minute after i move in
it's pissing me off, having to wait since release for them to patch it

mad simoleons
i think i have too many mods/custom content in my sims 3 cause it lags all the time when it didnt used to last time i installed it. its not that bad lag, especially once it makes a cache.
I will buy this game right now if someone tells me what i've heard about pianos not being in the game is false.
My question is: What makes this one stand out out of the other two? What makes this one special, and worth to buy, other than possibly better graphics? Tell me that, then I might buy it.

The main thing is that you can customize everything. You can change the texture on practically every object to almost anything you want; from clothes to furniture to walls. Other than that there are some fairly decent game play improvements such as the open neighborhood where you can go to any lot at any time without a loading screen. You can actually visit another person's home instead of them all mooching from you!

yeah, that's the pussy way
I don't understand how you add new families to a neighbourhood. I had to go out, make a new game, make the family, save the family, go back into the other neighbourhood, and set it at a premade place.
What am I doing wrong? I can't even place house locations customly, so I ran out after 4 - 5 families! :frown:

I don't give a damn weather you buy it or not. If you like The Sims, you'll like The Sims 3.

It's basically got free roaming, rather than being constricted to lots like in TS2.
With that comes a 'living town' sort of thing, every household in the town goes to work, has children, gets old and eventually dies. Even TS2 couldn't do that. On top of that, you can choose how long Sims live, anywhere from just a few days to over 900 days.
Building is also a lot easier, the house grids are finer, and you can place objects diagonally now. That's all just the base game too, there's a hell of a lot more to it but those are the features that really spring to mind.
