That is a swell idea to download a random file off the internet. Not at your fault, but could you provide the developers website/forum post wherever you found it?
I got linked to it in IRC, so sorry. You should have Sandboxie or something similar to run downloaded files on, without any risk.

Also I can attest that it works aside from practice mode. Haven't played it in multiplayer yet, but it's practically impossible to do alone.

Hmm... I tried to make a server and it just stayed at Connecting, I doubt it has to do with the addon, but I dunno
Try it through "friends-only game", creating a server didn't work for me either but that did.

Game needs more custom campaigns. Onslaught one was fun for a while though.
Me and a couple goldies beat the first mission on insane and got VERY close to beating the second.
I hate it when you play a good game on hard and steam just disconnects, everyone just disappears. :(

I usually just go through my friends list and invite everyone. First come first serve.
I am VERY confused with the fucking onslought map. It can't possibly be working for me, because when I was screwing around making maps with the tilegen(before I even DL'd onslought) it bugged out and started the onslought map(did not know it at the time). Then I DL onslought, play it and it's the same map. Very confusing.
My game crashes everytime I try to start it up. The loading screen is there for few seconds and then the game just closes. Anyone else has this problem? Allready tried reinstalling Alien Swarm, but it didn't help at all.

Friendly Fire is a bit of a problem, since people in the game i played tended to just spray bullets everywhere.

You leave the spawn area to start it so you can set up sentries etc.

To play multiplayer just set up the loby and type "changelevel lolswarm3" in console
map goes in
Steam\steamapps\common\alien swarm\swarm\maps
and everyone will need to have it before you play.

What's that map like thingy on the bottom right? Also, does the map have ammo spawns or something like that? Would be awesome.
They fixed the reload ammo bug, shitsux.
