I thought Valve isn't any related to EA anymore, not even on retail distribution. Don't they have enough money for that? (i heard they got over billions of bux from the games)

I can confirm that the EA logo is not present on the Portal 2 retail box but is present on all Valve games after Half Life 2.

The existence of the surprises was announced back in September of last year. Portal 2 and DOTA 2 do not count if I am not mistaken, as both were announced before September. Mannconomy probably counts though.
The surprise is that The next 2 surprises are being released together.
But that would mean there is 4 surprises, which is a surprise, so there's 5 surprises.

Yeah, from what I understand EA handles publishing any Valve game as long as it wasn't bought on Steam, because on Steam Valve has the ability to more easily distribute their games themselves so they don't need EA for it.

I don't think EA handled the publishing for Portal 2, at least for the PC copies. I don't see the EA logo on my copy anywhere (back and front) and there are no mentions of EA anywhere in the fine print.
However I'm 99% sure EA handled the console copies. I wonder why Valve didn't have EA publish all platforms.

There are absolutely no EA logos on my ps3 copy. I'm sure valve has enough money and background to publish their games themselves by now.

Yeah, I thought my PS3 copy had the EA logo on it, it is not with me but I do recall seeing the Valve splash screen for the start-up but I didn't see the EA logo.
I wonder why they didn't announce the change. Was it that insignificant?
