You either...
A. Have no wood.
B. Have no stone blocks(or stone)
C. Queue is too busy.
Try canceling job and rebuilding it and why are you building outside oh god hahaha

Because I have literally just started the game, and I'm not used to it yet. And as for queues, how can my queue be too busy if my entire population is idle? And I have plenty stone blocks and planks, shown in the picture.
What are the requirements for the loom? Maybe you need logs instead.

I got plenty of logs as well, and I was pretty sure that it used planks and blocks.

It doesn't matter anymore anyway, I just remembered to update, and now I got to make a new world again. Maybe this time, it will work.

This LP is nice to get started. Even though it is 4 episodes, it'll be enough to get going on your own after this.

Skimmed through, and already solved my 2 biggest worries at the moment which was how to rotate things, and how to build roofs., so thanks man!
Floors make roofs. Somehow, didn't spring to mind at first.
-solved, snipped-
I had no idea what a Mant-Man was or whatever they were called.
I had 35+ Gnomes.
Now I have six, living off the surplus food and wine and waiting for them to starve outside after having sealed the only entrance to their fortress off.
I just tried to register on the gnomoria forums, when I get the security answer wrong, what the shit.
Am I missing something, and are retarded, or is there something wrong here?
What the christ

I typed it both in small and big letters. What the fuck?
Im fairly sure you control GNOMES in FUCKING GNOMORIA
I think I popped a bloodvessel in my brain.
Have you tried "Gnomes"
Have you tried "Gnomes"
Ah that was it. I guess Im a bit of a retard. I got confused as it said Creature, instead of Creatures. Didnt think of a plural.
Okay, I'm just starting out on this game, but I feel like I'm missing something extremely simple here...Why aren't they building my loom?
Simple, you have to many wood in the workshop, create a stockpile for wood so there is more room for him to make wood.
Also for don't forget to make lots of crates, they are really saving your fort from making massive stockpile chambers

Oh, don't worry, I managed to solve it on my new world anyway. So far, it's going pretty well I think...

I still aint been looking at many tutorials, but I do understand that the next thing I should be making is a dining hall or something?

Yeah when you got a dining hall you can select it and set it as 'Grand Hall'
The Grand Hall is the place where your gnomes will stay once they are idle and is your main attraction for new gnomes that might move it
Every chair, table or whatever you put in the Grand Hall is multiplied by 2x so if you make lots of statues and its worth 300 each it will be 600 worth once its in the Grand Hall

Then this is going to the grandest fucking hall ever!

Do not make a grand-fucking-hall until you have the army to support it. More worth = harder enemies
[editline]11th November 2012[/editline]
make a semi-grand hall

I'm playing on peaceful though, because I'm still a fucking newb.
Anyways, is this big enough to be classed as grand? Ignore yak.

Just don't put too much expensive furniture in there and the worth should stay low.
There was another thread, but this one looks much cleaner.
Great game for anyone who have doubts.

Yeah sorry, i didn't saw the thread even with a search (or i misspelled the name or something)
What's the latest version?
I bought the game a while ago and I can't find where I'm supposed to download this from except the link in the email but I dunno if it links to the updated version.

The link in your mail is always the latest version
Okay, cool. Thanks.
I'm in the middle of a Mant siege. I had no idea they even existed and they showed up in the thirties one day and slaughtered everything. My power went out so I had my save from JUST before they showed up, desperately walled in my farm, destroyed my entrance to the fortress and made a tunnel connecting the farm.
Now we're waiting them out until we can fight them or something. My Gnomads just arrived, not one survivor.
Nevermind, my Miners got buttfucked by Iron-Clad Skeletons and a million Golems. Fuck that, going to play Peaceful now.
My old Fort after I boarded up the out-door farm and entrance from the Mant People.

Inside:

Gnomads showed up after awhile. No survivors.

That's some badass Mant of Boil.
Any advice on how to not die in this game?
Like, if I dig deep enough to find iron I get buttfucked by Golems and Skeletons in Iron Armor.
If I stay above ground Mants will fuck me up.
Is it normal to armor ALL my Gnomes and not just the Army?
I think it might be possible to light up underground for it to not spawn golems and stuff. There's a check for dark square in radius of any gnome or something like that. That could probably save you from Mants.
Check the forum for details, since I don't remember and haven't played for a while.
Yeah just spam torches everywhere since that keeps the creatures away underground
This looks pretty good, actually. I might check it out.
