Well fuck, this game's buggy. This is about my fifth or so "kingdom" and regardless of what I try they won't make any planks or blocks, they just idle. Whether I set the priority to highest, nothing. Any other task is done immediately, just not the workbench thingies, same with building mostly. What am I doing wrong?
Upload the save somewhere and I'll check it out.
Congratulations! Motherseduction has fallen! This was the fate of my generated name gnome fortres: Goblins. Everywhere. In the professions tab on the gnome, look under wood and then make sure carpentry is checked. It's not a bug, it's a feature!
I like the new Gnomoria logo. It's nice.
This is a fair bump but hopefully someone will have some good ideas for me. Early on is there any decent way of not getting murdered constantly without completely walling yourself off from the rest of the map?
Got into this a few days ago because I had a random youtube video pop up with a guy playing it. I've gone through 4 kingdoms, the last 3 were destroyed either by a mass beetle invasion or a bear that wandered into my area before the last block of the wall was placed. In short, the bear killed everyone and was walled in and couldn't leave, so it now rules the dead kingdom. I've learned that gathering a small amount of resources early, and designating your grow and build areas respectively, you can clear the area of all items for the trees you fell and the foraging for cotton strawberries. I've managed to finally get "The Alive Kingdom" to become fully self sufficient inside of the walls with no orders out there but to grab corpses and items. I fought one goblin so far and he got murdered by 3 of my woodcutters with axes. I've been training ALL of my gnomes in combat since fall of the 1st year so they should have basic combat experience without ever fighting anything. Still, I wish I could make better traps to get gnome traders to get in without having an army of bears following behind them. A great game.
Also fuck beetles, one spawned in my Mine, and after about 2 days of constant fighting and 0 gnome deaths, the beast has been slain. Good God these things.
Just saw the thread was bumped again, time to spent hours again playing this on work :v:
A friend picked this up for me today... Do we still talk about it?
How in depth is the trap system in this?
http://www.gnomoriawiki.com/wiki/Mechanics Apparently pretty in-depth... We have to remember, it's essentially a graphical translation of DF. Much more in-depth than Towns.
Only thing I hate about this is how armour shatters during combat due to durability. It's bullshit. Legendary fighters dying due to shitty armour.
