Left Alt + Enter, works for most applications so do for this.

oh its because it only has 5.92 on it herp
who wants a 5$ steam game for this lol
I walked into some guys house who had a pretty elaborate trap set up going, and lots of visitors and quite a bit of money. Figured I was in for a challenge. Skipped all his traps with 1 explosive and walked over to his safe which was sitting in the corner of a room :v:
Yeah a lot of the traps are easily broken. Brought 8 bottles of water to one of the top houses with some kind of super-complex electric floor maze and just dumped it everywhere, easiest cash I've made.
I built a room full of fake unpowered electric floors and then replaced the walls with metal walls so it looks nicer
Metal walls conduct electricity

In the folder where Castle Doctrine is saved go to the settings folder open up fullscreen.ini and change the 1 to a 0 and save it
Is there a way to see your name?
If there is no way, what's the point of the filter function?

To go to the same persons house over and over till you find a way through
Does the trapdoor conduct electricity? It would be nice to test your contraptions in a non lethal environment. Also if you could get some traps that only take a portion of your health. Also, it's 1991, where are the shotgun door traps?

No. If I remember correctly it's intentional to keep people from finding their friend's/other account's home and exploiting the system.

my man, I offered a $10 steam game even and nobody took it
Sounds like The Collector: The Game.
Is there any reason to use wired wooden walls over steel walls? They are both the exact same price, do the exact same but steel walls cost more to destroy.

1) More obvious decoy traps. People tend to spot them easier than conductive steel, don't know why.
2) You can build entire wooden wall section and choose exactly which one will conduct electricity.
3) Wooden, steel or concrete. All of them still requires 1 tool per block, if you build with 8+1 in mind, wooden will be more than enough for ever. Wooden gives you the most in this situation for block/$.
I'm going to sneak into houses and leave people money.
This looks rad, I'll probably pick it up in a little bit.
I hate pits. I went to this house, 1300$ god damnit, clubbed wife, went back and forth a few times to check for pitbulls, accidently stepped in pit and lost a 4000$ house
the owner of that house must be laughing his ass off as the enterance to his vault was just around the corner, even I could see it :suicide:
As far as I know it's supposed to be to keep people making extremely complicated contraptions.
All it really does though is "pick right or ded" contraptions
Which really sucks but its the only trap that actually holds up
[editline]18th March 2013[/editline]
Also that fucking suicide button pressed right where the done button is, I pressed it by reflex because I've had to remake my house so many times now

The permadeath in this game is fucking broken though

Every god damn time I get lots of money and a good trap this happens
Geez, if you have infinite money, it's easy to just create a 12 bit combination lock and surround everything with obstacles. That's endgame: create something that isn't a challenge, but simple blind luck if you don't know what's the combination.

And getting infinite money is easy all you do is wait for the 2k new spawns to start a room with no defense crow bar the wife and rob the vault but always keep your total money below 100 so you will never be robbed keep doing this until your room is done.

I do this
Then die testing it
A lot
Considering a 12 bit lock is 4095 possibilities, that means it's practically impossible to get to the vault. This is so broken, but I don't see any possible way to prevent this kind of layout.
Maybe if they limited the number of generators to one.

I keep a notepad document open with exact plans of how to get through I then double and triple check it followed by doing a few practice runs before I finally take the plunge and do a live test, as long as I take my time and follow my plan exactly I no longer die testing my own traps.
I made a trap that releases bulldogs on players who take too long (for example if they try to lure the wife out)
Seeing people circle around the entrance and freak out when the bulldogs are released (did I mention there is an electric gate that doesn't let them get back to the entrance) is priceless
*Sigh*
I supposed I shouldn't be too frustrated with the current state of the game. It *is* still in alpha after all. The concept is pretty damn original and what we have right now is polished, even if it's unbalanced as hell.
Can't wait for a future version. I don't think I'll continue playing the game until then.
Yup StrawberryClock, that's what you gotta keep in mind. This is pretty much the first alpha version and I'm positive that these issues will be solved :)

Usually you dont circle the entrance to get your wife, you circle your entrance to wait for the trillons of bulldogs that will probably appear

Sometimes I take two steps for some reason and fall down a pit, its pretty fucking annoying
Ahah, a guy have been walking back an forth on my pit trying to see if it opens. After about 15 tries it finally opened and he fell into it

And that is why you always bring one bottle of water
