So, I got whitelisted and I was on for an hour. I'll be back tomorrow. I was very impressed with the server. Everyone had proper skins, the setting and stages were excellent and I just loved it overall.
The only thing I was a bit iffy on is everything in chat is global. I was hoping everything was local and there was a special command to be heard globally for OOC stuff. But apparently there were some server issues? Was this ever a feature or is it planned? It seems like it gets really hectic with seven people all having their own conversations at once.
Otherwise it was a great server, definitely look forward to going back, hopefully during 'prime time' when there are more people.

I'm not sure of the local chat situation.
Until Soyuz says it's broken, I'm going to assume it's because everyone is in close proximity in Driftshade.

Oh, that could be. That's a pretty big local chat though. I was at the wheat farm by the West Gate, outside of city limits and I could hear the entire town talking from there.
Chat radius is 100 blocks, if you want I can decrease it.

I'm not sure how it works myself, that seems a little big still. I know there are some mods regarding chat where you have to be within line of sight and the text is dimmed when they're in other rooms and stuff.
But I wasn't even in town and I could hear two people talking about how one of the was going to shag someone, that was kinda odd and I'm pretty sure that should've been a private conversation but it was broadcasted locally.

Oh god they're plotting against me. Also, is it that hard to just disregard chat you feel you shouldn't be able to hear? That's what we've all done for a while now. Most people don't care what they say in local chat, because only the people they're actually talking to ( And perhaps a nearby spy) are allowed to RP act on what they said.
For example, overhearing two people discuss the need for a mage from a huge distance away, then walking up to them and saying "Oh, I'm a mage" is not really acceptable, because although the chat is displayed, no human could really pick up two people conversing from 100 meters away.

It kinda was. Because I was talking to someone and I'm standing there waiting for their reply and since all the names in the chat box are usernames and not their Rp nicknames it was kinda hard to follow because someone would post something, I'd go "Is this them?" read and find out it was completely unrelated and I kept doing that until I could learn what Bob Mcbobsman's actual Minecraft name was.
I was outside town limits, I put quite a distance between me and it to see what was happening but I could still hear some (Goblins?) harassing the town and all the towns people reacting even though I was just waiting inside the wind mill at the wheat farm until the rain stopped. Makes it hard to know if someone is talking to me too. And for the record, I never acted on something I overheard. I didn't go rushing over to the Goblins to be a terrified villager because I wasn't even in the town, or within ear shot of the commotion so I completely disregarded it but it is distracting.
Example: Sitting alone in the grain tower waiting for the rain to stop so I may not be paying %100 attention to Minecraft. If local chat was based more on proximity than I would immediately know that if I see someone say something in chat, it's probably pretty close and I should pay attention. But it's a constant stream of OOC and IC chat from distances no man should be able to hear. If I ignored it, I run the risk of missing someone saying "Hey, Stranger!" from behind me because for all I know it's two different people in town.
I haven't been back though so the decrease in chat radius may have helped.

I'm pretty sure that mod is a spout based one. Wouldn't be a problem if the majority of people here used the spoutcraft launcher and asked Soyuz to add certain spout mods to replace some of our existing ones.

Just waiting for an admin that can TP me so i can start playing.
Server has been super inactive recently, I dislike how most people leave when they see that the server is low on players, its really the worst thing they can do to help.

Someone hired me to mine but didn't give me specific instructions beyond "find a mine or make your own." and since the Driftshade mine was closed I made my own. If you like I can fill it back in with cobblestone or something. I'm just not sure what else I could've done.
I've been getting on and off for a few hours for the last four days or so trying to find a job and this was the first guy to offer me one. I wasn't doing anything productive before than except wondering around town hoping the Mayor logged in or something.

Who told you to? As you noticed the Driftshade mine was temporarily closed, that means usually doesn't mean "open a new one".
Hey, I remember this server. I was whitelisted, but never really played it due to the very low amount of players. I'd like to be whitelisted again, my name is tehMuffinMan55 and I've read and accepted every rule listed.

There is a way to check previous chat logs and stuff, right? Because I can go check but I'm confused myself because the person talking to you has a different name above his head than his nickname.
I think his (username?) was arch angel or something like that. His skin was a guy in knight armor with a white beard and a little canvas buttpack. He lived in the house directly across from the fountain and next to the Carpenter in Driftshade with the two chests out infront of it. (The 1x1 chest was for me to deposit my stuff in for him)
He wanted 2 stacks of iron, 4 stacks of coal, 6 cobble stacks and 32 pieces of steak for a bonus. As I said my instructions weren't very specific and I was just thrilled to have something to do other than walking around aimlessly looking for jobs no one had.

You've been unbanned, just ask the mayor next time before you open a new mine, if you want to work in the mine I suggest you contact the foreman/mayor about a job.
