Good console, HORRIBLE controller. How in the world are you supposed to use 3 handles?
You aren't supposed to use all 3 at once, you know. It's just for what game you're playing.
Good console, HORRIBLE controller. How in the world are you supposed to use 3 handles?
It offered multiple control schemes for games. At least 3 ways of holding the controller, alone.
Hey You, Pikachu! was my entire childhood.
Oh man, Nintendo 64, basically the nostalgia-trip console for me. It's still pretty great to relive how amazing those games were back in the day, I remember being blown away by the geometry in the architecture in OOT :v: Yeah, most of the games haven't aged very well, but fuck you, it's N64 and it's awesome anyways. [editline] August 20, 2011 [/editline]
Hey You, Pikachu! was my entire childhood.
I used to think that the voice recognition in that game was the most amazing thing ever as a kid.
Fuck yeah I still have the green see-through one from the DK64 bundle. Edit: 1,000 post!
People will say I'm looking at it with Rose Coloured glasses, but the games really WERE better during the N64's reign. They just something magical about them that you don't get these days.

Jet force gemini was a fucking amazing game Goriest T rated game I've ever played.
People will say I'm looking at it with Rose Coloured glasses, but the games really WERE better during the N64's reign. I've never completed most of the N64 games I had, but I still found them incredibly entertaining.
Why has no one brought this amazing game up yet? [editline]20th August 2011[/editline] dehydrated as fuck
It comes close, but I have to say, hands down, Super Mario 64 is my favorite video game of all time. It also featured some of Koji Kondo's best compositions:
It comes close, but I have to say, hands down, Super Mario 64 is my favorite video game of all time.
OoT or MM for me. MM just had a much different feel to it. I can't decide.
Pokemon Snap was the shit.
As quoted from Prof. Oak. "Wonderful!" I have stories about this wonderful console... 1. The madcatz controller absolutely sucked balls. We went through atleast 5 of them because eventually the Z button broke on the back. 2. Playing Mario Party 1's Mini game where you had to rotate the analog stick to steer the boat to the side of the river so the shy guys stabbed you and made the computer drop his coins, absolutely tore the shit out of the palm of my hand. I remember getting massive blisters. 3. I remember having to blow into the cartridges to get them working... 4. Eventually, my N64 started to encounter problems such as making games not work and such, so my mom went to a WALMART and got a special edition see-through blue one, but when she got home the old onestarted to work again so she took the newer one back.
It comes close, but I have to say, hands down, Super Mario 64 is my favorite video game of all time.
This, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards were my favorites.
Conkers Bad Fur Day was the best game ever.... still is.
Now that I think about it, if storage media was cheap enough back in the N64 days, the N64 would have been ideal for digital distribution. The largest games for the N64 were 64 megabytes (games like Resident Evil 2, 64mb wasn't even close to being a standard size for the games). That would take 3 and a half hours to transfer over dial up, which isn't too bad, if you think about it. You could let it transfer overnight, just make it hangup after downloading. A 32mb game is a much more reasonable 1 hour 46 minutes. But storage was pretty damn expensive back in the day, especially when you consider that Nintendo likes to make a profit on the console.
The games I have are OoT, MM, Some $2 wrestling games, Power Fucking Rangers, Super Mario 64, Kirby and the Crystal Shards, Blast Corps, and some others I can't remember. Anyone else remember Iggy's Wrecking Balls or Rocket: Robot on Wheels?

I never got a game pak so I couldn't save my games...
^ I had to beat StarFox 64 without saving because I didn't have one either. I'm still proud of myself.
^ I had to beat StarFox 64 without saving because I didn't have one either. I'm still proud of myself.
You could save Starfox 64?!
You could save Starfox 64?!
I think so.
I think so.
Nope. You could only save your scores. Starfox 64 was one of those games where you play for an hour and beat it, and like an arcade it records your final score to compare with others who played. [editline]21st August 2011[/editline] I have Turok 1-2, Donkey Kong 64, Starcraft 64, Starfox 64, Super Mario 64, Golden Eye 007, and Pokemon Stadium. I never owned an N64 in my childhood so I don't get the nostalgia some of you do. But I still very much enjoy these games. Starcraft 64 is great fun with friends, Starfox is challenging and fun and I quite like it's arcade score saving rather than progression saves, Pokemon Stadium I played at a friends house once or twice before and it's still good fun with friends. Turok is probably the only one I have issues with because they are confusing to me. And Golden Eyes controls are really something to get used to when you've spent the last decade or two playing on the Xbox/Playstation/PC. But the N64 still has life left in it! I can't wait to pick up some of the greater gems some of you have mentioned.
Funny thing is Im still looking for conker bad fur day on n64 Its a real rare piece to find around here. It can go from 40$ to 200$
If you really want that game you would probably have better luck at a flea market. I remember finding a shit ton of n64 game at one for cheap.
Funny thing is Im still looking for conker bad fur day on n64 Its a real rare piece to find around here. Amazing how time can increase somethings value.

Actually, my first video game console was the N64. First game ever was Super Mario 64. And, since it's related, who remembers THIS commercial?
