It's their VISION of CryEngine 3. It doesn't say that they were actually TAKEN in CryEngine 3.
"The following images from members of the community endorse our belief that great tools enable all developers to achieve their vision with CryENGINE 3." right, okay
it looks rendered.
but it's not. it's a photo.

lets just say my walls are all white now...
Well that's not a game, right?
It did say photorealistic in the title.
Considering the only big new additions to 3 are "make it for PC, compress for consoles" and deferred lighting, not really no.
Not to mention they didn't say it was CE3... they said "Look at what our crymod modding community has done with the CryEngine!" Also there are alot of new changes, such as dynamcially streaming content in a level, dynamic global illuminination (no engine has ever done this to date before), a revamped animations system that's more advanced than what CE2 had, and not even mentioning the fact that it's designed to be extremely scalable (hence the preview footage showing Cryengine running on consoles). Apparently the modularity and desctructability is also a lot more advanced visually and performance wise.
says what can be done with cryengine 3 in a matter that it could easily be perceived that they're saying they're taken from cryengine 3
This is just fucking batshit insane
Yeah the ToD editor is a bitch to get something to look *just right*, especailly if your Time of Day is made to transition from morning to night As you can see, there's a fuck tonne of stuff to tweak to try and get it to look right, and what's visible there is only like... a 6th of the amount of variables involved.
Yep and if you move one little tiny dot out of line, you get fucked and the whole thing can go to shit.
It did say photorealistic in the title.
I'm not really impressed by the graphics, is that bad?
I'm not really impressed by the graphics, is that bad?
not bad at all, the detail isn't really boosted at all, the color and lighting levels(essentially) are just tweaked to be more natural and realistic looking. the visual presentation is all that's really improved, visual quality and detail aren't changed. you should note that it does look more realistic than vanilla crysis/crysis warheard, though
I think Crysis just needs better HDR. Like if you're in the shade, under a roof for a few seconds, your eyes get used to the level of light and adjust. When you walk out from under that roof, the light should be overwhealming for a second or two. (I know Crysis has this, I just wish it were more pronounced)

I tried it in Warhead and didn't like it. Way too dark in the shadow, to the point that surfaces looked hard black.
You can easily enhance it through a single console command.
What's the command? r_hdr or something?
What's the command? r_hdr or something?
I think this is it. r_EyeAdaptionClamp
I don't even know what to say. Those are absolutely amazing! I'm so glad I'm buying a new system!
Should be fun to try when my GTX 295 finally arrives tomorrow.
what a blast!
looks like real pictures almost. this is kick ass!
Can you post the link to the main forum in the first post please. And maybe make the whole post a bit more neater. Just suggestions.
will this increase the system requirements? sorry to sound so stupid...
No, it won't. Read the first page. This has been answered many times already and answered just as equally. Edit:
I don't even know what to say. Those are absolutely amazing!
