Generally the reason these look so damn good is because the images are rendered at MASSIVE resolutions and then scaled down, this gives them a very crisp look with very smooth edges. In game it will look NOTHING like this. Sure the time of day settings will still retain the basic look and feel, but it won't look anything like that.
You can? Cool.
Yeah, you can even tell crysis to take panoramic screenshots. A good teqnique to use to make a screenshot look really crisp is to tell the game to take it at a resolution something around 7580x5800 (or whatever). It'll factor in the resolution you run the game at for some of the quality, and then capture at that high resolution. The Full size screenshot doesn't look THAT good considering the screencap can only capture the quality of the res you run the game at, except doing that over 7000 or so pixles. But, when you scale it down to a mcuh smaller resolution in photoshop, the screenshots come out looking really crisp and detailed.

In-game you will however have one extra visual dimension, motion, which will probably compensate for reduced resolution when it comes to realism.
In-game you will however have one extra visual dimension, motion, which will probably compensate for reduced resolution when it comes to realism.
As for me, 10 fps won't be much motion :D
In-game you will however have one extra visual dimension, motion, which will probably compensate for reduced resolution when it comes to realism.
4 fps doesn't count as motion.

When i saw that picture i did think it whas a Real-Life picture.
When I even try and run it my pc would implode
4 fps doesn't count as motion.
You realise editing the LoD doesn't make it laggier right?
The magic in most of the pics closeups is texture resolution and coloring.
How do you do this screenshot thing?
These are amazing. I want a better PC. And Crysis. Any info on the specs of the machine?
Buy a computer for all you can get, in about 3 years, then you'll be able to play it maxed.
Can't. Have to read All Quiet on the Western Front. Fucking 250 pages.
I don't want to hear it I have to read Mein Kampf 600 something pages
Quite stunning! Only damn obvious flaw is the beret on the Korean. NO beret looks like that! It's soooooooooo obvious!
I don't want to hear it I have to read Mein Kampf 600 something pages
Yeah but that's actually interesting literature.
i don't see anything special my 360 could run this
Incoming shitstorm detected By the way, the 360 has a hard time running Team Fortress 2.
Holy toast shit! I found a nickel! The pics are nice, too.
i don't see anything special my 360 could run this
Lol.. How 'bout the game engine itself? Crytek had to reprogram a lot of the Cryengine 2 to scale it down to become the Cryengine 3.
I just beat Crysis today, and when this comes out, I'll replay it again.
Jesus Christ! My PC would run from this with its tail inbetween its legs while crapping out solid gold mudbabies at a rate of 200,000,000 per minute. D: That is fucking incredible. Especially the ground textures.

I wonder if ToD settings can be transferred from CE2 to CE3? Because CE3 is basically the same engine, except with color bleeding. THEN it'd be photorealistic.
