even if the game's as polished as big rigs it will be the best game ever
They ported the original Halo to pc so maybe. They are more than qualified
Halo PC was a very good port, even including SDK, which is unheard of for ports. The game is tarnished by the netcode, but blame Microsoft for making Gearbox redo the net code for 56k like 3 weeks before releasing.
You mean Anthony and Ashly "Hey Whatcha Playing?" revenant Anthony rev rant Anthony Burch? Holy shit.
Yeah, he's a writer at Gearbox Studios. He used to write for Destructoid.
Hey guys look what I made.
Poor 3D Realms :(

I already knew this, research does wonders.
I don't care when it's released. I just want to paly a first person shooter game where you can carry more than 2 weapons and you don't get health back by sitting behind a wall sucking your thumb for 10 seconds.
Fucking kids who don't know to always bet on Duke.
I officially gave up on it when it didn't come out in 2001/2002. If it were to come out today it would probably be as generic as Prey was. Also, haha, I'm not a kid.
I pulled out an magazine a few days ago. It was an issue of PCGamer, I believe. In it, they made a joke about how Duke Nukem forever was in development for so long. The magazine was released in 2003. Let the fucking game die.

Am i missing something or is he just saying shit to shut them up
Honestly what has Valve done recently? I want to see something new and revolutionary from Valve. [editline]04:08PM[/editline] Tried a Duke Nukem before, quite cool!
Game companies don't really do much "revolutionary", the best they can do is better gameplay elements. At least Valve made Portal and Left 4 Dead, which both had new gameplay styles (not so much in l4d, but it still had some new stuff that isn't seen very often in other games). And on-topic, I like Duke Nukem as a cultural icon of badassery and vaporware, not a shitty remake. If this happens, there will be tons of idiots going around saying "BALLS OF STEEL LOL" who haven't even heard of Duke Nukem 3D or the original. I personally don't think Gearbox is that great of a developer anyways, I didn't like borderlands at all and hated the art style, but that might just be me (and Yahtzee). Oh well, just another sequel. The games and movie industry desperately need to be more creative, they're just going through backlogs of old stuff that should be left alone (a Yogi Bear movie? Fucking seriously?) and making it worse.
What a waste of a decade if this game turns out to be complete crap.
Ahahaha that video at the end "balls balls balls balls"
The only way this game would be made like it had taken that many years, would be if VALVe were to take it into their own hands. Just an opionion as VALVe seem to have a pretty flawless sheet (except the whole delayed thing) I take back the mean thing I said of Richochet.
Faggot. Let the game die already. If its anything like Duke Nukem 3D people will either be blinded by nostalgia or will hate it for its outdated gameplay. If it isn't like Duke Nukem 3D people will hate it for not staying true to the series.
If it were to come out today it would probably be as generic as Prey was.
What? Prey was a great game.
I don't understand people saying "Let it die." Just because the game is taking a long time means you don't want to play it? That is some pretty hardcore retarded logic.
After watching what it could've been in the 2001 video, yeah, I don't think I'd want to play it since every little piece of footage of the new version that I've seen makes it look like a boring pile of shit. If they released the 2001 version then I would be all over that bitch. Also, no, Prey was garbage. Had a gimmicky wall walking mechanic and it was too easy. I liked the organic weapons idea but in the end they were just reskinned generic machine guns and rocket launchers.
Prey was amazing.
When I heard a new Duke Nukem would come out I was very exited. Now years later I may be not as exited, but if it comes out I'll buy it. [editline]03:39PM[/editline] Also I don't think anyone noticed so here's a trailer from april 2010:
Well, that was a boring video.
gearbox picked it up? duke nukem forever will now end with a giant tentacle monster stepping out of a portal
I'm sure there will be info about DNF on E3 2011. Also the video's old, 2 years.
It's going to suck.
Prey was a gigantic flop, easily up to par with Daikatana.

So they worked on this game for over 12 years, and it looks like a budget-priced shooter from 2005 made by an obscure russian development studio. How impressive.
I'd buy it just to say I finally played it.
Ahahaha that video at the end "balls balls balls balls"
Balls of alluminum.
I see you never played any of the previous 3D Realms games. Or games like Serious Sam.
I did. I enjoyed both Encounters, I enjoyed Rise Of The Triad, I enjoyed Duke Nukem 3D and I enjoyed Shadow Warrior. All of those games were great fun for their time, had at the very least decent graphics, good level design and good sound effects. They weren't falling 4-5 years behind in terms of pretty much everything like Duke Nukem Forever does, if we're looking at the leaked gameplay videos. The only gameplay video of DNF that I've seen that didn't show a half-assed, outdated and generally uninteresting game was the one from 2001, which turned out to be a render. I'd gladly play the game I've seen in that trailer because it looked great, but that isn't going to happen. They should just let this die, announce that it is dead and move on to another project, it's not like it's actually going to live up to anybody's expectations even if it's eventually released. And yeah, here's the 2001 trailer.
