I decided to try making another map. This one is 1w_VLE. VLE stands for Very Large Excavator. This is a heavy WIP and what you see is maybe half the map. Basically, this thing is really damn big.
Nice idea, but if it's really damn big you're gonna need to detail it far more.
Are you guys still playing on this thing? I haven't dl'd it yet, but it seems really interesting. I know how to texture as well as map, but thats about it with the Source Engine. It's a VERY outdated and clunky engine.
It's not outdated. They update it regularly and it's having a massive update when Portal 2 is released.

Off topic, but how are they achieving the dynamic lighting in Portal 2? Are they using any method present in the current engine build?

It's also said the dynamic lighting will work with the portals too.

I highly doubt that. It's not intended for lighting entire maps and lags terribly.

There's usually only one or two in any one place so it shouldn't make any difference.

What are the entities again? 8 hours from now I'll be asleep (3 AM). Because of that you guys have to tell me how the map was/worked/failed.
Progress so far. I haven't gotten as much done as I would like because of homework. Blue base is all laid out now. Time to do Red base, then everything in between. Gonna work on this today + release a new patch probably tommorow or the day after. I'm gonna focus on bugfixing, cleaner UI + helping new players rather than adding new features. Anyone got any maps that'll go in?

As for the UI, I'd love it if we could see how much ammo we have in reserve, as well as loaded.

Is it ironic that while I was playing with 1Week stuff in Garry's Mod that I got the achievement "One Week?"
