You should try and get Steamworks support, much better than Desura and you can do a lot more with it
Unlikely, empiresmod has been petitioning for steamworks for like ages and we're way more polished (no offense, but the mods been devving for like 3 years and this has been devving for a week) and we've only now been accepted (still not actually released though)
Is there anyone playing on the server at the moment? Would really like to try the mod but no one is on :(

It's incredibly hard to get into and all you do is die until it ends up with one side being spawncamped until they lose. [editline]18th February 2011[/editline] Also IHazard head onto steam when you see this, I should be on most of the day.

It has huge maps, with large scale combat (64 players) and huge numbers of vehicles on the field at the same time. Spawn camping is rare, and dying defending a rax is not spawn camping, it's dying defending your rax. Spawn camping is when you die before you can reaquaint yourself with your surroundings. Despite this, the large number of conflicts occur between the bases in skirmishes over refineries. While I agree with you in that it has an odd skill curve, it's very rewarding after you get past the initial complete confusion, and the playerbase is usually friendly when you ask them gameplay questions.
No one added me to the credits. Sad times. Sad pageking.
Where are the credits?

Also no-one is in the credits. [editline]18th February 2011[/editline] Officially.
You obviously played against really bad players. It's a lot of fun with even teams, also it depends what patch you played. 2.1 had significant tank balance issues, railheavies basically killed any other vehicle hands down. 2.3 the current patch is pretty balanced in infantry and tanks, the matches are mostly even, last longer and are usually not steamrolls (depending on the players) Only problem nowadays is playercount. EDIT: But enough about empiresmod, this thread is about 1week, which is still fucking badass.
Beta SVN just stopped working one day, really sucked ass (Empires Mod)
After some playtesting, we decided on a new method of shielding. Everyone thought it was really annoying when you tried to jetpack during a fight and just fell down to the ground. So now the shield is part of the pack system (default) and toggle-able. So far 1.05 has Changelog Features: • New deployable – Forcefield. Less health than blast wall, but transparent + walkthroughable. • New deployable – Jump pad. Propels you at speed towards a certain direction. • Pack System added. Player can carry 1 pack, which has a different effect. Can be toggled on or off. • Medic Pack. Your energy reservers are sacrificed to provide nearby players with a health + energy boost. • Shield Pack. Your energy reserves act a shield, absorbing damage if they are still full. • Ghost Pack. You gain the ability to walk through walls. While "ghosting" your energy is quickly drained and will not recharge for a short duration. (UBER PROTOTYPE) • Teleport Pack. You no longer have a jetpack, however you have the ability to teleport after a delay (within a range) Gameplay: • Blaster projectile speed increased by 20% • Blaster fire-rate increased by 25% • Blaster damage reduced by 10% • Player jetpack energy increased by 20% • Minimum fall speed to damage reduced by 50% • Very low damage amounts will not stall your shield recharge Bugfixes: • Repairing the generators gives the player 5 points + $500 [editline]19th February 2011[/editline] Playtesting will obviously have an effect on the final outcome, as these are some fairly serious changes and some ideas might be scrapped entirely.
I think that before adding more features, we should focus on making it easy for new players to figure out how gameplay works. Most people are surprised that this game even has grenades. If possible, I was thinking of trying to get the L4D game-instructor working in this mod (if that's okay).
Why do you think the playercount is low?
It's because the gameplay is very complex (which is good for more skilled players because it rewards them on the time they've spent playing, but does not reward new players and will cause confusion).
SVN link? It isn't in the OP.
Is the download ready? It's been a week.
Is the download ready? It's been a week.
Check the ModDB page.

Can someone tell me what the font was called that was used in the main menu logo? And can someone send me the .vtf for the Shotgun?
materials/models/weapons/shotgun
Thanks. And layla, stop being a faggot for once.
Layla is an incredibly successful troll.
Layla is an incredibly successful troll.
I only called him a faggot, not finger my asshole whilst raging about him. In other news, I've made a Blue Texture for the Shotgun and if anyone can, could they like, code it in. Or some shit.
someone should get on the server, i want to play.
Okay. Gotta dl the new version.
FAS got it in a couple of months lol - applied after first release too.
All I really care about ATM is auto patching. I'll go for Desura first, then Steamworks.
All I really care about ATM is auto patching. I'll go for Desura first, then Steamworks.
But are you still going to update the SVN? And can the poster under me post the IP of the official server, or the page number. I don't have time to scan 70 pages.
SVN is pretty much required for testing purposes.
just scan for servers to find the dedicated server.
The SVN is using beta 1.05 atm
just scan for servers to find the dedicated server.
Nothing there :saddowns:
