What misconceptions and mistakes (scientific, etc) really bother you in games?

When assault rifles can fire auto and semi but not in burst. Yet smg`s can. (Take a guess)
Also, when your weapons can kill a "ragged conscript terroist" with 5-10 shots, yet they can blow your head off with one bullet from an smg at lightspeed pointblank.
When someone can be shot in the chest 5 times with a PKM then shot in the shoulder 6 times with a magnum and not die. Fucking bullshit!
FPS enemies have a habit of being immune to pain. No screaming. There really is no excuse for this in stealth games, as it would be really cool to run up to them and hold their mouth like in Inception.

Ships in ME create a mass effect field which acts similar to gravity, even if the ship was cracked open it would have kept the air relatively still. The reason you wear the full space suit is the drive core could be destroyed at any second, you wouldn't want to be exposed when that happened.
God, is it hard to make reload in games like this: if you shot the mag to the click, insert fully loaded magazine AND CHARGE THE GODDAMN HANDLE. If you did not emptied the entire mag, don't touch the handle. Is it that hard? But not, instead of it your player will charge guns randomly (mw2) or it's a matter of weapon (bc2)

You're getting awfully upset about whether or not the character pulls some twiddly bit on the gun in a fictional environment.
He's getting upset because it's so simple.
I agree it is irritating when you have to take the time after a reload to chamber a round when you didn't empty your previous clip entirely. Something about a game with combat facts correct just helps me with immersion into the gameplay.
Turrets should do more than overheat if shot too much. They should run out of ammo. I'm sick of people sitting in the machine guns and turning into an apocalypse.
Plus I don't get how a tiny little UAV helicopter can fit a turret that does a shit ton of damage to multiple things.
This isn't scientific but I hate the stupid idea of an army actually allowing people to call in mortars on empty building just to knock them down. I doubt that would happen if you were in the military.
I take back slightly what I said about WW1 and 2 weapons being more powerful in games than modern weapons, but it doesn't make sense because I always thought guns are expected to advance a little more throughout time. But I guess it's better to have a balanced weapon that doesn't kick to much but can kill quick enough than one that is either weak or too powerful.

All Call of Duties since the first one do that properly. If you discharge all your ammo, you cock your gun. If you don't, well... You don't.

I hate it when grenades only hurt people who are hit by the visible blast, while people standing near it remain completely unharmed despite the risk of of being torn apart by tiny bits of flying shrapnel.
This is particularly infuriating in games like CSS where the blast radius is the size of a dime.
I hate how whenever your character eats or drinks something, they do it instantly. GTA4 almost tried to fix this kind of but you still ate hotdogs in like 2 seconds.

or in MGS4,Snake always cock his gun,but when he does on a gun with a chambered bullet, you can see the bullet from the chamber getting out
You just ruined Mass Effect 2's beginning for me.
Don't let it. Partially that is true. Remember how everything was on fire except when you went from the back of the ship to the cockpit and you went through space and there was no fire whatsoever?

I always thought the grenades in CSS were a bit weak. I've no idea how powerful a grenade actually is but it seemed like you could be right next to it at full health and you wouldn't die, and that felt silly.
The explosion radius of a frag grenade will kill you, but that explosion is only there to launch the hundreds of pieces of shrapnel outward. The shrapnel can go quite a ways, it's like a bunch of small(but still deadly) bullets flying out in all directions.
When people use them, they always take cover, because the shrapnel radius can be far greater then the distance your able to throw the grenade.
In real life guns are loud and without ear protection your ears will ring and I realize it would be annoying having the game make a ringing sound whenever you shot or to have everything muffled but I can't help this from bothering me.
None.

ARMA II ACE mod, you can even go deaf, especially around tanks.
Melee weapons that in alot of cases more effective than firearms. Take MW2 for example. Tac knife+lightweight and marathon+commando= holy shit
Inaccurately made guns. Miniguns you can shoot forever. Because after a minuite or two of firing a gatling gun it's either going to overheat, or your going to run out of ammo, and depending on how many times you have used it before you might run out of battery
overheating doesnt stop you from being able to shoot and the whole point of miniguns is that they dont overheat

Take grenade.
Look down.
Throw it and stand directly on top of it.
You now have 20-30 hitpoints.

Well, that's another for the "subscribed" list. Thank you for the link.
Explosive barrels ALWAYS being red. And AI taking cover behind explosive barrels.
This is going to sound clichéd. But try Arma 2, it has a fairly good representation of war with no conspiracy bullshit hanging over your head.

Why not? It's not like you would run out in like 5 seconds. It would just keep you from being a whore.
ARMA 2 is horrible. People within 5 feet of each other have trouble killing each other because it's more like flopping around a dildo than a gun.
Call of duty.
when gordon pulls the pin off his grenade and puts the live grenade back INTO his suit for later use
ARMA 2 is horrible. People within 5 feet of each other have trouble killing each other because it's more like flopping around a dildo than a gun.
Funny because I have no problem killing people at 500 meters with an AK-47S Semi-Fire.

If I'm not wrong the shrapnel can fly a block or two. Insane radius.

Well, Valve thought that you would throw a grenade and then would switch to a different weapon.
But yeah, it looks stupid.
