What misconceptions and mistakes (scientific, etc) really bother you in games?

Harriers in MW2/GTA:SA able to hover for at least a minute or so without failing.
There's a reason why jets need air intake: So they don't over heat. Also lets not forget hovering in a VTOL uses tonnes of fuel as well.
Furthermore not to mention the amount of irony when your team gets EMP'd in MW2, you are announced over the radio you just got EMP'd. How the hell would your radio still work? I think MW2 in general is just un-realistic.
the only thing the desert eagle could possibly be useful for is interrogation or torture, because it's such a frightening weapon.
I would so be interrogated with a Desert Eagle. I would feel like I'm in an action movie.
The Russian military still uses AKMs, Ak-103s, and AK-107s. I'd say a good deal of them still have wooden furniture even. That's not a stereotype, that's a fact.
And almost nobody uses the AK-47 anymore, something the news, press, game devs, etc never get right. Oh well, can't say I blame them for it. The AKM and most other AK variants look pretty much the same as the AK-47.
AK-103? AK-107? Nope, the Russian Ground Forces still uses a modernized AK-74 variant called the AK-74M. The AK-100 series are produced primarily for export and they would more likely be seen in the hands of MVD troops and GRU spetsnatz units than the Ground Forces.

Even at a condition where the Harrier needs to use its coolant fluid at maximum pump, it still lasts about 90 seconds, but that hardly ever happens, harriers can, in normal conditions hover for anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes before it would need to land.

I was pretty sure it was one of the 100 series that their ground forces generally used, but I didn't recheck before posting. A tad too lazy, so I'll take your word for it.
I was also under the impression that under certain circumstances, the soldier could choose whether he wanted a AK-74M or AKM (or whatever AK that they use chambered to 7.62).
Grenades exploding before you've released the handle.

I believe the misconception that the Russian Ground Forces are using AK-100 series weapons comes from a poorly-researched description of the AK-101 from the Battlefield 2 website and the fact that Russian forces in ArmA 2 are equipped with AK-107 rifles.

I don't play either of those games, and that's not where I got my info from. It was from quick scanning of wikipedia just from a general interest.
When one 5.56 rifles does more damage than the other 5.56 rifle because it looks cooler.
Joked aside, the USA should get off the high horse, you are not motherfucking gods.
Well I don't know about everyone else, but I'm certainly not patriotic.

This threw me off for a year or so.

A nuclear explosion in the upper atmosphere will destroy the ISS thousands of miles away, but the people 60 miles below will be completely unharmed.

If you'll excuse me I'll just go right ahead and trust BIS to get their facts right before wild speculation on Facepunch.
I know this as probably already been talked to death that you can reload in the middle of a clip, but a quick history lesson.
Since the M1 would give off that ping sound after it fires all 8 rounds, German soldiers used the sound to tell when the US soldier was reloaded and they would take advantage and mostly get the US soldier while they would be reloading. Sometime they would only fire 7 of the 8 rounds in each load so that the German soldier couldn't tell when they were reloading. It also had an advanage when there was 2 US soldiers, one would fire all rounds, the German would hear the ping and move up on the soldier reloading, and then the other US soldier would start to fire at the German after they left their cover and were in no cover.
Or they took their empty clips, threw them at the ground which would give a slight ping, when the enemy popped their head out, well... you know the rest.
When people use the word "intergalactic" when writing about the majority of science-fiction games.
MAgs referred to as clips, No fucking ironsights in a game that has no excuse not to have them(*cough*neotokyo*cough*) and that usual two shotgun blasts in the face to kill. I get it when it's that style, like borderlands but if it's expecting to be fairly realistic then no. Also that weapons have damage according to coolness.Nearly Every weapon is virtually a 2 shot kill, only things that can be tweaked are range and accuracy.
Grenades exploding before you've released the handle.
Soldiers are trained to NOT LET GO OF THE FUCKING HANDLE until they throw it due to the fact it mighhhhttttttt blow up half their body.

That is one thing bad company did right.
How shit the entire plot of MW2 was.
The plot of both modern warfare games was so bad that I don't evenn remeber it.. I vaguely remmeber shooting Zakaev, then being on a bridge and see Price get shot in MW1, and the ISS getting anihilated in MF2, but that's it.
Ask him where his sickener (sickner) took place
I wish I could, but we're on holiday :saddowns:
What is a sickener?
Has exploding barrels been mentioned yet?
When one 5.56 rifles does more damage than the other 5.56 rifle because it looks cooler.
The excuse used by Fallout 3 in this case was that the chinese assualt rifle was better made than the american one, in the sma eway the american 10mm pistol trumphs the chinese one.
Well guns can have different barrel lengths etc

See us brits decided that if we are going to have an army we're not going to have a bunch of random Gun Nuts running around out there.
If you didn't know any better you would swear that the entire British military was made Up of Special Forces and Gurkha's.
There's another Point. Every Time Britain is in a War game It's always the S.A.S.
WE HAVE OTHER MILITARY FORCES YOU KNOW!
See I would love to see a game here you are a Gurkha, They are like a mix between the S.A.S and Ninjas. You don't see them coming, then never make mistakes, they are loyal to the death and if you manage to kill one of them, get writing your last will and testament.
Well what about Free health care in Pokemon or bullets cannot destroy mines(Battlefield 1942,Vietnam and BF2 only) or bear traps (ALANWAKE)
If your pockets are filled with over 50kg of stuff you will only be able to walk
Well what about Free health care in Pokemon
It's called a national heath service. It's paid for by taxes so you don't have to pay when you go. All good countries have one.
If your pockets are filled with over 50kg of stuff you will only be able to walk
Hell of a pocket you have.
Well guns can have different barrel lengths etc
Doesn't mean much tbh. Barrel lengths mainly account for accuracy.
We could go into muzzle velocity, but I hardly doubt you would notice the difference between getting shot by a 5.56 going at 900m/s to a 5.56 going at 1000m/s.
Oops I meant muzzle velocity.
True but at least excuses different damage
Unmovable trees.
