How can a person hosting a server discern between a griefer and a good player, without allowing them onto the server first? Join date or post count, when the players come from FP. So what you're saying is that since i joined 4 months late, even though i had been lurking for half a year BEFORE that, I'm instantly unqualified to make logical decisions on what is right and wrong or understanding the rules and how to play online? For christs sake man that's fucking stupid. I'm already older than 90% of this forum and just because i joined 4 months late doesn't mean I'm instantly an 8 year old dumbass that doesn't know what he's doing. That is the screening. The whole process of rejection via date is the screening process. It's dumb and ideally everyone should get to play on the server and have a fair try, i agree with you; but at the end of the day, if your a server owner you want to safeguard the shit thats been built and also to stop it being crashed or griefed, and if the only way to realistically stop it being griefed is to let a few people in then so be it.

I know the rule kinda sucks, but the server has limited spots so I might as well try my best to keep the riff-raff out, even if it is a bit unfair to some.
If I don't get anymore PM's soon I'll accept 07'ers or run some kind of building contest if people really want in.
I know I upset some people, but just place yourselves in my position... I have limited spots... and a large number of people wanting in. I can't please everyone unfortunately.
I decided to play Multiplayer today
We made some nice castles and underground bunkers until we decided Glass was the Master Element
Then we spam Swastikas until a child who said he was Jewish came in and destroyed everything.
Eventually I got bored enough to make an enmormous one out of water by controlling sponges.
And it ended with us destroying half of another guy's castle and me writing Blitzkrieg on the front of it

But see, he's not letting only a few, trusted people in though. He's letting all of the 06'ers and older in, which is quite a few people, and still has griefers in it. I guess what I'm saying is his logic is flawed. Doing this won't prevent griefing it will only prolong when it will happen due to having a smaller amount of people in it.

I never said the logic was correct. Give me another way of stopping griefers effectively without them crashing the server or destroying other peoples builds.
Please tell me a way to guarantee it?
There isn't a way. This is just an effective method, that, and word of mouth concerning griefers.

I'm a newbie and i've been running round servers for the past couple days and helping out with shit. however because i never changed my default skin the ammount of animosity people had towards me was huge. there was almost always suspicion and rejection.
When a griefer started lighting fires, i was watching him do it, and telling everyone exactly who it was, but nobody believed me, they just instantly assumed it was a guy called Flamester
I guess what i'm saying is if you want to treat people with the same blatent bigoted descrimination as the TSA, people are going to treat you like it.

well nobody has griefed the server yet and I don't think anyone will at this rate.
