Decent enough computer to run minecraft with a high FPS, about 2-4Gbs of ram for a small group and more for more people, then a decent upload speed.

To run a good server I would have to say at least a core2 duo @ 3.0GHz
4GB Ram for 4 or so people( 12 is good for quite alot )
at least 4-6Mbps upload but the higher the better
