Use Gimp to put some ambient occlusion on it to make it look much better, and you can also put some noise on it with Gimp aswell :eng101:
I played a quite a bit of Minecraft survival mutiplayer last night and I feel it was quite fun and would be more fun if a lot of the bugs were fixed.
I was playing on a Private server and we did some of the following things
Built a underground settlement
Blew up an underground settlement
Built a small village
Blew up a small village
Messed around with the Minecraft engine
Built a city
The admin was generous and gave us the stuff we could not make and we built some pretty cool things.

I hope Notch optimizes it so that we can have more players and less lags, and he needs to fix reddust, levers, pressure plates, and buttons :argh:

A lot more than that, I haven't actually played SMP yet due to the lag I get though I'm sure furnaces don't work, am I right?

Furnaces don't work at all, they just gobble up your items. Doors are very glitchy too, you have to left click to be able to get through them for some reason.

He's going to release the bug fixes when he gets back from bigjam or whatever, he brought the source code with him to work on.

I can apply ambient occlusion (shading) and noise to skins whoever wants :D

You can ask Dog-gy to do the ambient occlusion for you, he sort of did it for me with my skin.

I never got this thing about ambient occulsion. You can't just add graphical effects to a game that lacks them.
Added some noise to UserDerth's skin.
