My HOI3 constantly crashes without explanation so im stuck with taking over the world with Belgium and The Netherlands in HOI2. I really want to play with the new improvements in #3.

The only ones I know are resource ones which add 1000 of whatever you type in, "money" for 1000 money or "crudeoil" for 1000 crude oil for example.
I tried them when I was looking for the fog of war off cheat, which I couldn't find.

I just brought this game because of this thread. I've gone through the basic tutorials, but of course, steep learning curve. What would you recommend a new player should do to grasp onto the game?

Me too, HoI3 has a very buggy online system too so me and Conscript played HoI2 last night. He took Austria and I took Germany, we fucked off everyone and by 1937 we had taken Italy and Hungary. Then, France and the SU declared war on us (no idea why) and now we're fighting for our lives.
War against France in 1938 is not easy.
Haha yea. I wanted to create the Austrian empire so I invaded hungary after I got 200 relations with Italy. Then a couple months later they DoW'd me. We took over mainland italy and I got most of their territory through a peace event. Now Austria has 100 IC, but not much manpower (only .30 a day).
Afterwards France DoW'd Germany out of nowhere, then several months later the soviets DoW'd us.

I'm currently playing as Brazil, and have captured everything else from South America except for the little Allied colonies, Argentina and Chile. Cuba is almost captured.

Ireland is freaking impossible, I'm sitting here on my ass watching time fly by trading supplies away. I researched the ability to build more IC but in order to do so I need more IC and two years of sitting on my ass. (FOR ONE BLIP OF IC IN ONE PROVINCE)

Hurf no update today, been out all day and don't really fancy HoI at the moment. Expect an update tomorrow.

The extreme slowness of the game has sucked all the fun out of it for me, when there's no wars happening you have to sit for hours waiting for research and throw trades around every now and then. But then when war breaks out, you attack (Which seems less detailed than HoI2, support attack and the such) and since battles can go on for a few days you just have to sit around some more... If the game didn't run so slowly these things would be fine, in 2 on the highest speed you might go through an uneventful year in an hour or two, in 3 this takes all day.
There is a speed boost LUA file on the [url=http://forum.paradoxplaza.com]Paradox forum[/url]. With that it takes maybe 5 seconds per day with a decent computer. That's around 30 minutes per year for a year when nobody is at war.
Research tends to take 6-7 months, when you consider you can end up with 15+ research projects going on at once that's a brilliant speed.
Support attack is in, ctrl+click and you get a dialog box giving you the option, it just seems to be undocumented.
Battles are longer because the battles in HoI 2 were too quick. This stops you doing ridiculously quick takeovers, battles are long. It's much better this way.

There's a hotfix out (check the stickies) but as it's a beta hotfix I'm really wary, Paradox has a tendency to break thngs, going to wait for feedback on it.
