Now I'd like to see KillerTV do a drunk update.
I love this thread.

I want to play HoI2, that game is really fun with others. HoI3 lags so much on MP it's annoying.
Using some cheats I conquered europe as Yemen, so don't complain about low IC Yemen has 1 IC.
"I played HoI 3 drunk: here's what happened" or however that oblivion thread title went.
I definitely want to see that.
I definitely want to see that.
I have to doubt a drunk person would have the willpower to manage a country.. unless its my lag, it takes me about an hour and a half to get through a single year when I have the time speed set to max.
*sets entire IC to building roads* *country revolts*
Haha Roads in Slav Empire are only good for the transportation of booze
And stumbling down drunkenly! It's not a good night without walking in the middle of the road and dancing with lamp posts.
And soldiers, Slavic soldiers mighty feet deserve great roads to march down Even if to scare Enemy (Men in Strelka)
Epic stuff, really great. Hopfully there will be an update soon. A bit offtopic though; I am really interested in such games but this one has such a learning curve. Is HOI2 easier? Or are there good games that have the style of HOI, maybe not so complicated.
Argh i got BSOD again when i exited the game. I guess i can't play it anymore. I'm afraid:crying: Gonna make a update today? this thread, :iia:

No update today, there was going to be one but then the crash made me throw the toys out of the pram.
Rage, it's not good for your health.
I'm trying to learn how to play this and it seems to have a huge possibility to be awsome, but I just can't seem to figure out how to manage the economy. I understand the production sliders, but how do I get more energy, metal, etc. It seems like they are always negative and I have no idea how to either get more (other than trading) or use less. This seems to be my biggest problem.
Right. You have Energy - Trade for this, keep it in the green Crude Oil - only used for converting to fuel, try to keep it green. It's not terrible if it's red but don't let it hit zero, then your energy stocks take a big hit with conversion. Supplies - Unless you're playing buttfuckistan never trade for this, set your IC sliders to make a surplus. Rare materials - You want these, keep them in the green with trades. Metal - Want, keep in green where possible Fuel - VERY important. Try to keep Crude oil in the green, don't trade for it directly. Money - A surplus of consumer goods makes money. Your country's supply of these is based on their provinces, some countries like Japan (or Yugoslavia for that fact) don't have enough. In that case you have to trade. Buy the resources you need to keep in the green. You'll probably find you don't have enough money for that. 2 options, either produce lots of supplies with your IC and trade them for cash. Or set a lot of IC to Consumer goods and produce money. This isn't set in stone though, just because it's red it isn't terrible. You might be only losing 1 metal a day, but have a surplus of 11,000. Don't waste your time on something like that.
Thanks for the help. Energy is usually the first thing that runs out on me. Is there anyway to ever produce more metal, rare materials, or crude oil?
Get a hold of provinces that have them. Use the resources map mode in the bottom right to find out which provinces have which resources.
Thanks for the help. Energy is usually the first thing that runs out on me. Is there anyway to ever produce more metal, rare materials, or crude oil?
You and me both. Right now the USA and Russia are both producing over 450 surplus energy, and are the only ones with energy surplus above 10, and yet they are whoring it, the greedy bastards. Whats worse, my energy consumption is -110.
If they won't sell you just oil try to buy one more resource along with it. It seems to boost the chances, but also seems to be a bug, because buying 0.1 of another resource as well as what you want can boose it from one side of the scale to the other.
huh i didnt know that your energy takes a hit when your crude goes to zero. i just thought that meant the crude converts slower because you're stuck converting what you produced that day.
KillerTV, you could always attack Russia with surgical strikes against her urban areas. I just did it with Romania. All you do is ask transit rights, move a few divisions onto the capital/urban areas, and declare war.
that's a bit gamey. what's the point of playing then
I have finally gotten all my resources in the positive. Everything is plus and working well. Now I just need to start building my military and invade someone.... I'm thinking that someone is going to be Sweden.
Get all chummy with Russia then send legions of paratroopers to the heart of Russia.
All of europe belongs to Germany! YES! Well, except Ireland, somehow. Next target - Washington D.C
Update...
that's a bit gamey. what's the point of playing then
Well, I see it as a possible way of winning a war... Not entirely sure if its a bug or not, since they won't even surrender unless you have supply lines. If your division(s) are stranded there, it seems that they just take their time taking back the area you took.
