It should have 1.) not running into other stalkers or factions or whatever by walking around for two minutes 2.) FAR more diversity in "generic" character models (and correct proportions for once) 3.) larger landscape to explore 4.) if it still uses x-ray, then it should be upgraded and optimized to hell and back 5.) no recycling of models from 2004 especially vehicles, character/mutant models, and foliage (you have to agree, the trees and bushes look atrocious)
Are you fucking joking? Call of Pripyat is probably the least buggy of all the games and runs far better then Clear Sky and they improved the weapon/armor customization, the only downside is they took away faction wars and even then it wasn't a big deal because faction wars got fucking annoying, "GO HERE, BANDITS ARE ATTACKING, QUICK, DEFEND THE BASE BANDITS ARE ATTACKING, RETAKE THIS AREA, UH OH, BANDITS ARE ATTACKING". Not to mention even WITH mods that patch the game, faction wars is still buggy as hell. Call of pripyat, IS the best Stalker game so far.
as far as i'm concerned: best story = shadow of chernobyl best atmosphere = clear sky best gameplay (in terms of quests and exploration) = call of pripyat now hopefully, that will all be combined with STALKER 2

Being the most polished game in the series doesn't mean shit if the game itself is three times as boring as the first two. The story was uninteresting, there were hardly any people to fight, and even the mutants posed no real danger.
Veeeerry Inteeeereeesting...
-Improved Optimization -Less vanilla bugs -Less enemies that are purely bullet sponges -A storyline that's not easily forgettable -More enemy variety with mutants that actually use stealth (not just ones that use invisibility) -Mod friendly This is what STALKER 2 needs.
Only that? Like fuck. What they really ought to do is make a photo-realistic 30km zone with only about 50 STALKERs in it, fully functioning a-life, a good deal of mutants (maybe 375 or so?) They'd all be fairly powerful, and every fighting a STALKER would be very hard, not by virtue of how many hits they could take (realistic ballistics would be good, too, as well as realistic combat wounds. No more needing to shoot somebody 10 times with an AK-74.) but by the fact that the combat AI would be very good. There are a whole bunch of other things that would be very good to see, but I won't type them all here. Something about SHoC just felt more visceral. SHoC is actually capable of giving me tingles down my spine occasionally, and I've been playing since 2007. CoP just can't do that, however.

I'm mostly a console gamer, but this news gives me mixed feelings. I'd love to see this series on the PS3, but on the other hand, I hope GSC doesn't have to make any sacrifices to the game as a whole in order for it to function properly on all platforms.
Did you do the bloodsucker nest mission?
Any intensity that mission had was pretty much ruined by that dude's atrocious voice acting
The reason why most of us don't want it to be on consoles is so we can be smug and hide in our own little worlds and have this amazing game all to ourselves and not have to hear about some tards at school talking about. Well thats my fears any way.
Game is true Soviet, strong like bear made of kalashnikov.
If they can make good on the Oblivion Lost open world shit without having a horrid storyline with horrid linear hallways and not more bugs than mosquitoes in a swamp, I'm fucking in. Many have tried, many have failed. But if they can do it, it's the end of the line: Best game ever.
The first one is harder than Call of Pripyat, just a warning. If you don't care about story I'd go with CoP first since the learning curve isn't as steep. The second one doesn't really exist and we don't talk about it
Clear Sky is a fine game I don't get why everyone bitches about it so much

Well thats my fears any way.
the typical console gamer would find STALKER's realism and harshness difficult and annoying and they would hate it. so by default it would be reserved for the PC gamers. didn't think of that, did you? :smug:

But if those players are too stupid to adapt to a different style of play where the objective of the game isn't to "shoot wave after wave of enemies until you push forward then shoot more waves of enemies" then too bad for them.

It only matters that we enjoy stalker. We're not mainstream gamers. Stalker ins't mainstream, it never was.
Clear Sky is a fine game I don't get why everyone bitches about it so much
It was significantly buggy at first but its fixed now, so I'm chalking it up to typical bandwagoning
Did you do the bloodsucker nest mission?
Yep, didn't scare me at all. I've played the whole game through thrice now, it doesn't really scare me.
And nothing of value was lost. It only matters that we enjoy stalker. We're not mainstream gamers. Stalker ins't mainstream, it never was.
not outside of Russia and Eastern Europe, at least. over there it's apparently a bestseller.
Europeans play all the fun games that require any sort of skill to play. :v:
I hope they have new panting sounds. I hated playing missions, where my teammates went.. Teammate: Okay stalker, let's go! *PANT PANT PANT PANT PANT PANT PANT*

I think a lot of console gamers would enjoy stalker, just because they have a console doesn't mean they're dumb or bad at games.
This "multiplatform" might not be a good idea. STALKER is somewhat of a niche game on the PC, if they consolize it they will lose the sales on the PC which will be more or less 95% of the sales.
I'm worried about the console version, the release version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games tend to be full of horrible bugs, only after the first few patches do the games become playable and even then they still have some annoying bugs. Unless they can somehow patch the console versions, if they fuck this one up then the console version is done for. Not to mention no awesome mods like L.U.R.K. AMK and others.
Any intensity that mission had was pretty much ruined by that dude's atrocious voice acting
Don't forget his inability to stay during a fight.

well i played it and passed it but the game is up there with demons souls for ps3 in games that get way to much praise IMO
