Awesome.
Most likely the guy who worked on that section(s) of code got fired or left GSC before ShoC was released (During ShoC development GSC had an insane amount of employee turnover) and no one knew about it until after ShoC and CS were released. I've noticed it more in CS but I think that may have to do with the tweaked weapon damages compared to ShoC. At least in CoP they've managed to fix this from what I can tell.
It was actually related to the ragdoll physics, if I recall correctly. They "fixed" it in CoP by removing the ability to drag bodies.
Someone explain to me the stalker games? I'm thinking about buying the first one
Chernobyl, mutants, guns, first-person, RPG elements. Just go play it
I prefer Fallout. :colbert:
GET OUT OF HERE, ST- I mean idiot. They're completely different games. [editline]07:05PM[/editline]
Hope they make this on a new engie *cof cof(metro 2033) cof cof*
I certainty don't.
Doesn't matter. I'll be buying this for PC anyway.
you are a little girl
You can't exprience Stalker and it's useful commands at it's fullest in some dirty, pathetic faggy console. PC Master-race is dominating, the lesser machines will receiver their version only after years of wait.
I certainty don't.
First off, it was said on the company website that they are making a completely new engine by scratch. RPS and other news sites reported the announcement very badly, leading people to think they being using CryEngine. With that out of the way, I actually would not be surprised if GSC is making a new engine that is just like the 4A engine, since their ex-senior programmers made both X-Ray and the 4A engine and especially since they would want a new engine that they are still somewhat familiar with. I don't see how people could not hope for the next stalker game to run on an engine similar to the 4A engine, it is absolutely incredible.

You seem to have been reading another post. I was saying "Nope, I don't think they should (nor do I believe they will) implement Metro 2033's engine,"
I prefer Fallout. :colbert:
that's cool they're not anything alike in any way at all really except for the presence of radiation but okay

I actually liked the fact that they developped their first games on the pc, then they decided to go on consoles. I don't think it's bad. But it's hard to imagine the game on a console. Maybe they will make it linear, like Stalker should have been first.
Gonna be on the Metro Engine i guess . . . would be awesome.
Gonna be on the Metro Engine i guess . . . would be awesome.
It's an awful engine.
Its just an updated stalker engine . . . [editline]01:17PM[/editline] with most features cut out for metro 2033 since its a FPS. Easy to re-add in the first place.

Yeah . . . that word would fit too . . . But it worked fine for me . . . on pc . . .
Yeah . . . that word would fit too . . . But it worked fine for me . . . on pc . . .
Cool..................
........what?
...ellipses... ...
..... its about the dot`s ye?
Putting...ellipses...after...every...other...fucking...word...is...pretty...annoying... don't...you...think...?...
no . . . why?
It makes you look like a stupid kid. It's not that cool. I hope they don't make the game linear, would take all the style from Stalker.

Linear STALKER would go against everything the series is known for.
Gonna be on the Metro Engine i guess . . . would be awesome.
dear jesus I hope not
At least with consoles they'll be forced to code it to a playable build this time before release. :P
I... What? Linear STALKER would go against everything the series is known for. dear jesus I hope not
At the very beginning the GSC wanted to make a linear game, for instance like Half-Life. Including a crazy story with Azteks or Mayans. It sure is strange. Although later on they changed the setting completely.

Definitely, I think you can still see some models of Azteks temples in the very old builds or when you open the old world editior. It's crazy.
They had some kind of hovering drone too, if I recall their trailers correctly.
It's an awful engine.
How can it be an awful engine if the people who actually knew what they were doing split off to make their own because the X-ray engine sucked balls?
