He didn't disappoint a ton of people, [I]you're[/I] the only one that's currently bitching about it. Even if it is half-assed to you, Notch said he ran out of time before he had to leave for BIGJam and pushed out the client instead of delaying it because people were pushing him to do it. The majority of the people who were complaining about Notch not releasing the SMP client are the same people who are currently complaining about it not being completely finished.

Even so, he's just flat-out wrong. The only people Notch disappointed were the people that [I]deserved[/I] to be disappointed by nagging Notch enough that he released the client unfinished instead of waiting until he returned from BIGJam and adding all of the features back in (IE the end of this month). The people who wanted him to wait have no reason to be disappointed in him but rather to be angry at the people who kept trying to get him to release it early.
I'm back into playing creative again. Especially having fun with my National Socialist server. Me and a friend made this awesome fuhrer bunker, and underground tunnels as well. Tomorrow we are going to finish the "Berlin Wall" as I call it(I like that name ;) ).
Also, there are many Swastikas in it, of all colors and sizes too!

Or possibly particle effects..
For villages, I need to come up with something clever. It would be great to have small huts with roads and so, but doing that procedurally in streaming terrain is far from trivial, heh.

Just to let you know, you pre-ordered the game to play the Alpha build. You don't have a finished product, so if one feature doesn't quite expectations you can simply wait until it's improved.
