Yeah, not asking for help totally helps you. What happens there is you're so far away from the spawn that when you teleport, your client doesn't have any of the terrain, so it thinks you're falling through thin air until it loads the terrain. If you've got a really shitty net connection, it won't load the terrain fast enough, so you'll end up falling [i]into[/i] the terrain, which suffocates you. Honestly, the only reasoning here is that your net really sucks, because we've got a player in australia who does fine with it.

Try the downloadable client
I updated java again, and now the sounds are working in alpha. My FPS has increased a little, I can now run around with about 20 FPS but it drops down to 5 or 6 alot.
And to Lilcheeselad I tried to download the client version, but there is something about it that doesn't want to work. My computer can't find the program to run it with, its wierd I only get that when I download a broken file.

Can you Run TF2/L4D2 maxed out ? if you can, then it's really odd.
Minecraft uses processor and ram not graphics card.
