Go play Cortex Command and try getting Data to move his ass. The truth is that Notch is working his ass off to get this game to a full version. If all you're going to do is sit in the corner and bitch about how you want him to make the game, then I suggest making it yourself.
Another point to make is that he said himself that he does the Friday updates for fun. They let him slack off a bit on the core aspects of the game and work on things he likes to do.
Also, the word is illusory.

I feel awefully sorry for the guys that even remotely care about the friday update not being released. You're playing a game that's in the alpha phase. In a normal production-process you wouldn't even get to see the alpha of a game.
Just be happy that you can enjoy a game that is not even remotely done, and just imagine how awesome it will be once it is fully complete.
