Yeah the game 'burning sand' or whatever has conductible heat :D
All falling sand games do, and one mod had RADIANT heat!
To be honest I'd love the fire melting/not melting metal to be toggleable.
Aye, me too.
Yes it is, lol, falling sand did it.
I don't care. this is a thread about powder toy.
To be honest I'd love the fire melting/not melting metal to be toggleable.
But wouldn't that fuck up some chain reactions very badly?
I has another request: For wood and oil to take MUCH longer to burn. Which would make for realisticness.
Yes it is, lol, falling sand did it.
That's Falling Sand, this is Powder Toy. Two completely different things with partially the same idea.
Falling Sand kinda sucked, i only really liked it because of the heating metal to turn water to steam thing, other than that i weren't really too fond of it.

:eng101:
Falling sand was only good for its modifiability.

Did you ever use mods for it like Lynx' mod? It never gets old
http://dan-ball.jp/en/javagame/dust/
This version is way more fun. Try dropping nitro on a player's head and pressing down.
Did you ever use mods for it like Lynx' mod? It never gets old
I made computers with Lynx's Mod before I made my own mod specifically for it. Then I made an 8 bit adder, 8 bit multiplier, and 8 bit subtracter.. and then I got banned from the FS forums for being underage. Crappy rules there, eh?
But back to The Powder Toy.
Offline saving would be really nice, it'd make the servers less crowded. Being able to manually edit the saves in paint or something would be useful too.

I don't care. We simply asked for conductible heat like the one in the powder game. And you said it was impossible.
Couldn't you simulate temperature by making 2 more kinds of pressures(hot and cold) that conduct through solids slowly and cold not as well through air?
Search "Burst Fire Flamethrower" for my new creation of win. :D

Self sustaining, you should use electrical conductive walls in place of e-walls
Couldn't you simulate temperature by making 2 more kinds of pressures(hot and cold) that conduct through solids slowly and cold not as well through air?
Actually there is no hot and cold, those are just relative concepts, there is only enthalpy, which is just molecular motion. Basically there is only heat, and things that are "hot" have it, and things that don't want it, so they "suck" the heat way from with more heat.
Please make a 'conduction plate' which conducts heat and also cold and makes particles near it hot or cold depending on if it is being heated or is linked to an ice filled room.
Fuck yes! This needs to be added. Pretty please!
I made a fully automatic one stroke engine, search "1 Stroke Engine" and you should find it
Interesting idea with the "engine". It's more of a timed explosive though.
A real engine is essentially several timed explosions

Timed explosions forcing a piston into spinning a shaft.
Fuck yes! This needs to be added. Pretty please!
The game doesn't have heat or cold at all, sorry.
I'm going to make metal more useful as sparkplugs though :-)
What's with the different colors on materials when I select them?
And why does the thing suddenly change its pen size?
I don't care. We simply asked for conductible heat like the one in the powder game. And you said it was impossible.
But there is no heat or cold.
Unaligned, please could you make it possible to have no layer. I mean layer as in, no fire layer or velocity layer. Just blank. I hate having to choose one, sometimes I just want to sit back and look at it all, not just one thing, especially if I have really powerful lasers, the velocity just messes it all up, pressure looks ugly and fire makes everything bright. They ARE good, but sometimes I feel like having them off.
Would be awesome if you implemented this.
I made some. Look for "Realistic Lighter", "Realistic Lighter V.2 - Zippo", "Chain Reaction", and "Suicidal Nuke Stove" all by tfog.
But there is no heat or cold.
Well their could be, just make flames emit heat and ice emit cold.
Think about the possibilities of conduction and cooling towers.
Either a powder like material which is solid (like metal and goo) and can only be destroyed by electricity or something that isn't pressure and fire OR a way to make walls smaller as I want to focus a pressure cannon in to a 1 pixel space but goo just dissolves from the pressure and metal is melted by fire.

It's not coded with heat or cold obviously.
I think they chose to just go with positive and negative pressure. Don't know why though.
Don't get me wrong though. Would be nice to have something like glass that would heat.
But for now you could just avoid using walls and use something else instead. With enough pressure you can blast through metal and wood. Simulating heat without burning.
Anyway i have a suggestion for another type of wall. A wall that opens at high pressure and closes at low. Perhaps also opens at negative pressure. But positive pressure only would allow some sort of one way gate.
It would hopefully, depending on how the game reacts to it, enable the simulation of a pulse jet.

You can use a pressure switch to turn an E-Gate on and off.
