I am open to any suggestions for new elements/materials.
You are awesometastic , your version works now but am i stupid and missing something or what...acid should burn/melt Wax...?
And please , fix the Pressure Bug!! Its driving me insane.
Pressure passes through all kind of Solids , except wall.
You could fix this maybe by assigning the same property as the Wall , so it will stop Pressure and air Flows. If the pressure is hight let the Metal fade , blow away but make it so that if the metal is strong enough for the pressure it will stop it from going through it.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
Btw , new element - Oxigen
Put it in a closed space , it makes pressure , it feeds the fire if in modest quantities , maybe you can find other attributes.
One thing kinda cool about quicksand is you can edit the physics.txt file to add new elements & interactions, maybe that's something to add to Powder Toy as well ??
Powder Toy already has that. It's called the source code. Just that you must compile it.

Some solids are supposed to do that. It gives the game more of a 3-d effect.
How about a parasite-type thing that converts everything it touches into itself, at about the rate of lava turns metal into lava.
that would be acid
I bet you can't guess what this does:

Pressure , or even better , heat? But how can you have particles of wind :)?
Pressure , or even better , heat? But how can you have particles of wind :)?
Creates pressure, making a wind effect.
Wind creates particles, but they get destroyed the next tick.
Also, heat is in the making. http://powder.hardwired.org.uk/ Read Simon's little changelog on the right.
Can you fix the metal so if you put a flame under it, it will heat up and boil water that is in it so it can produce steam.

If you guys make heat possible this will be the greatest mini-game evvaah!
Also , Pressure does not have the ability to pass through objects , thats how it builds up , by beeing compressed in a space , when its released it should throw ( push away) light particles or even blow away wood metal and other kind of Solids if its high enough , but in no way it should Blow (ex. water) away if it sits under a pressure recipient.
And is this a bug ? , when you build pressure inside a METL casing it will just disperse if the source is off , shouldn't it stay inside?

This has been bugging me FOREVER!

Nah leave it like it is maybe make it so diamond is pressure proof.

How can i make particles?
Everytime I update it, it crashes.
If the bug of the metal heating up is fixed you could make an awesome circle effect.
Put a flame under a metal bucket with water inside and then make the steam go against a sloped wall and then it will condense and fall on the plant and that will grow and feed the fire and it will go on forever.

Heat is being added soon. Simon gave me a sneak-peek at it, looks like it coming along very nicely. I can't wait for it, it's going to open up a whole other door of possiblities.

Your very lucky then.

Cool thanks.

Changes:
- Fixed Wax+Acid
- Added Wind. Use it to create a fairly significant amount of pressure. (This does create particles, but are removed instantly)
- Version format change. For example: 33.2 has now been changed to 3302.5 (XXYY.Z) X=Simon's Major build version. Y=Simon's Minor build version. Z=ief015's revision. This had to be changed so that Simon's official builds didn't parse saves that were made from mine, causing problems. This means, any saves you make with my powder toy build, will not be seen in Simon's official build.
They will be seen, but not openable, you will see a blank thumbnail and you will receive a "Mismatching Version" error.
I think that is it.
that would be acid
Except that it only burns through stuff, I've never actually seen it convert it.
ief014 great it works and its so kool. but how do u make elements to add to it

Download the source. Edit the source. Compile the source. Make money and get lots of chicks.

hahaha will do
Element suggestion! "Coal" Burnable, but when placed under fire-less pressure, turns into Diamond with about half of it's original mass gone.
Edit:
And concrete should become solid when poured into water..
And distilled water should grow plant...

I just made a project file for code::blocks, if anyone else wants:
http://www.mediafire.com/?2naotzyfzoj
Just copy the cbp file into the src folder and open it.
Like it's for the MSV version you'll need to get the devel pack of SDL and bz2 (bz2 was a bit tricky for me, got some from a cygwin related page). It's most easy if you put the lib and include files of both into the mingw folder so you don't have to add extra folders.
Once you have everything "build workspace" and hope for the best ;)
Ief, about your version.. melted wax floats on top of every liquid (aside from acid), yet dust stays on top of melted wax. Could you fix this please? Also, acid never goes away once it destroys melted wax.. This is on version 4 of your's, I dunno if you fixed any of this in version 5 or not
I wonder if this will work on the ps3 linux, i wouldn't know because they took linux off of fat ps3 ;-I

if you compile it on that system, yes
hell you could compile it on any platform you want, the source is out

what is compiling and how do you do it?

Melted wax is supposed to float on liquids. However, the dust is something I'm going to fix, make it so dust sinks under the wax. You'll see it in the next version.
