I don't know if it has exactly more players than the actual game.... yet :) When the OR hits, I gurantee that within a few months they will have more players than the actual game. And the best part? completely free :) When the OR hits I plan on donating at least something every month to help keep the servers up.
Gonna try this today. It sounds fun the way you explain it
Erm how do I get SWGemu exactly? I clicked getting started on their site but it goes straight back to their forum page? Any help please?

The OR is the Object Reconstruction. Basically what they are doing is taking the cluster-fuck that is the old SOE code and making it more manageable for themselves so it is easier to implement new content. Basically it will mean that everything will be fully implemented and the game will be just like live back in the day. From there, they can fix the bugs that SOE was too lazy too fix and add as much new content as they want. The only playable version right now is the test center, which is basically 1/10 of what the game will actually be when the OR hits. They are going to wipe the server when it does happen, so just keep that in mind when playing.
What does OR stand for?
Object Restructure, I think. Its supposed to be a huge overhaul to everything that also brings player housing/buildings and other good/bad stuff. Dang, too slow.
Is there a client download I can get without paying?

How and where do I change the controls ingame? [editline]06:04PM[/editline] That said, I just played the game for the first time and I'm completely lost. The whole thing seems to be unnecessarily complex.
Does it take long to log in to the server? [editline]07:38PM[/editline] Got in the game, but it is really confusing. The movement will take time to get used to

If you want to change controls hit ctrl+o and find it in the options, or find the options tab on the bottom right of your screen.
Does anyone even go on anymore?
If anyone wants to quest or do something, add Vantheemos to your friends list
Does anyone even go on anymore?
Well, I'm taking a break because I played it so much, I burnt myself out. My friends feel the same way, and I was usually around helping out new players and whatnot. Plus the fact there are rumors of the OR coming out in the near future, but no one knows exactly; that'll lead to the server wipe that they've been hinting at, so everything'll be at square one. I can't speak for the rest of these guys, though. But hey, look around Mos Eisley and Coronet for FP players; they're usually up for anything if they're still playing.
I lost my discs, because I stopped playing once it turned to shit. Can you help me Perfumly?
Wow, this game is fucking stupid. Although I no longer enjoy WoW, at least I know why it kept me playing from the get go. It didn't just toss me into a rigid and drab looking world and expect me to run around an empty area for half an hour trying to figure out what the fuck I'm supposed to be doing. I don't think it was the combat system that made this game fail, it's just a shitty game.

This game takes some time to learn, not as advance as other mmo's like EVE. But none the less this isn't a jump in and start "lol questing." Once you learn the game, you'll love it. Though if you don't go back, your loss. With a game like this, it is what you make it. You make it fun, then it is fun, if you don't it isn't. Plus community goes in to play, that being said everyone loves SWG and isn't out to destroy it. If you try asking for help maybe some people would be more then happy to hop and and help you. But having a huge fit isn't going to do anything.

I'm not expecting to figure out everything from the get go, but I should at least have some direction when I'm suddenly plunked into the middle of a baron city. The NPCs are cardboard cut-outs and literally have nothing to say. It really shouldn't take half an hour to get to an objective, and then another half hour to fight the target. Gave it a try, didn't like it as I somehow knew I wouldn't. It's a shame because I'm really into this era of the Star Wars universe obviously. I'll wait and pay for SW:TOR. [editline]08:00PM[/editline] LOL wtf. I went back into the game to give it another try. I spent 10 minutes shooting at a Jawa, half the time being stunned and knocked down. Neither of us made any real progress in the battle before he simply disappeared. Then I had en epic battle with a fucking beetle. A beetle. It knocked me down for several seconds at which point my character spun around on the floor if I tried to move him because that makes sense. I have a blaster and this beetle kicks my ass. And this wasn't your mutated giant cave dwelling beetle either, it was run of the mill. I'm still willing to give it a try if someone is willing to help me out a little, but as it stands I've had nothing but a bunch of confusion and wtf moments within my first 30 minutes of playing and that's not a good sign.

Also, if you're a manual type of person, I can scan my collectors edition manual with all the dev's signatures on it :D

It's its own book too be honest, never seen a manual for any game that large.
so is this game playable? when will it be finished? cause I've been waiting for years and this game has not yet been released.
Jesus, the original manual is god damn huge. It's its own book too be honest, never seen a manual for any game that large.
Sigh, my SWG manual has completely fallen apart. All the pages are loose.
Sigh, my SWG manual has completely fallen apart. All the pages are loose.
I still got mine, with the original case, book, and disks and all relatively good condition.

Is this still active within the Facepunch community? Then ventrilo server has been dead for quite a while.
So, the Steam version still doesn't work for this right?
Is this still active within the Facepunch community? Then ventrilo server has been dead for quite a while.
Probably not, I kind of gave up on it when I stopped playing for two months then came back and there was not a single update at all not even anything minor
