Sweet! they made tons of progress.
Is it really worth starting a char now? I think I read the thread on the OR update saying database wipes will happen oftenish?

Not much to do..
Is this exactly the same as pre-cu? I still play SWG but have never played pre-cu. How is it better other then more proffesions?
Because all the updates that SOE launched changed the game to be a shitty WoW clone. In Pre-CU, there were galactic wars, real military operations. Jedi actually were super-powerful beings. Reputation among the server actually mattered. There was balance in the galaxy, until SoE made a bunch of shitty updates aand ruined the game.
Okay, thinking about this, but I have a question. This is the pre-Sony update, so this means that the Jedi are still uncommon, yet powerful right?
Yes.
So I heard that there isn't any actual structure to this game yet. If this is true, what exactly is there to do?

Is there any way to get the files to play this other then buying an old copy off of eBay? I threw away my SWG disks about two years ago.

You don't have to buy the original game off of Ebay or anything. The files from steam work perfectly fine.
Hey guys, i still have my "Star Wars Galaxies : The Complete Experience" CD's. Is it worth reinstalling for this?
I thought this sort of warranted bumping the 3 month old topic: The other day they added Liberator, the "Fun" server to the server list. This is basically the game and game mechanics as they were prior to the OR wipe(so most classes, player housing and some other things are not implemented). Characters lost when they did said wipe are still gone though. It remains to be seen if any mechanics that eventually work 100% on Core3 will be implemented on Liberator though.
Is this the great one with 89 classes before sony made it shit ?
Can't believe the developers still haven't finished over more than half of the neccesities the game needs to be fun and enjoyable on an actual preCU and preNGE scale...
I'll plat this as soon as they put in JTL.
The best thing about SWG pre-CU was definately the economy and community i mean groups were so fun and mature because there were no kids around to bitch and complain and if you made friends in a guild and built up a good city....it was awesome! Sharnaff Nest farming then onto Rancor Nest farming was the shit! especially as a Tera Kasi Master! ( Nostalging so hard right now )
Wow, now I am really sad I lost my CD's for this game. Used to play it all the time pre-cu. Would love to play this...
Hope SWGEmu finishes soon, I'd like to see how populated it gets.
They aren't anywhere near finishing it. Progress is very slow, as it's all something they do in their spare time and they work off of donations. So it's slow, but steady.

Is there a tutorial or something? Am totally, like, TOTALLY, lost.

My second disc has a big scratch in it :( I was looking forward to playing this too.
Fucking steam version. Worked for me.
Now that I am playing this and having a blas, The Old Republic feels even shitier than before. :/
Umm stupid question cuz' am a noob: Lairs cant be destroyed? :/ [editline]20th January 2011[/editline] Meine automerge ist kaputt D:
Lairs can be destroyed. If any of whatever lair it is are around, they will usually run over and heal/repair the lair. Get them out of the way and its much easier. EDIT: Its sort of frowned upon to destroy random monster lairs unless they happen to be the objective of a mission you got from a mission terminal. The monsters from the lairs are fair game if they aren't being attacked though.
