Wow, im in as a Artisan, got Engineering I and Surveying I, anyone wanna grind with me that can teach me skills (as in, I help an Architect/Weaponsmith/Armorsmith and you teach me basic Artisan skills while I give you some resources and maybe help carry stuff around) anyone interested?
[QUOTE=MadPro119;31400020]So if I get the trial installer I will be set to play this when the servers shut down?
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
But it says...
"To setup SWGEmu, you will need ORIGINAL Star Wars Galaxies (SWG) CD’s, yes ORIGINAL, ACTUAL, PHYSICAL Star Wars Galaxies (SWG) CD’s. You can not use downloaded copy from D2D or STEAM, you can not use 14 day trial client or any other trial client, you can not use client obtained through torrent or warez sites. So get yourself ORIGINAL SWG CD’s, you can buy them cheap on e-bay or amazon.com. There are quite a few versions that have been released over the years and any version of SWG will work."[/QUOTE]
They're only trying to discourage piracy, Steam works.
Heh I still have my Old SWG account got myself a full set of BH armour as well too bad every year or so I check it out the server I play ons dead.
Anyway will anyone sell me SWG retail disks for cheap?
Hm, is this also going to close when SWG closes? Since (i assume) it runs off of Sony's servers and everything? Or am I wrong and it will hopefully stay up?

SWGEmu isn't run by Sony, so it will almost definitely stay running for a good while.

Awww... I had very fond memories of SWG, I was going to actually go reinstall my account...
Let's do this again, I ran a small town that focused on producing structures, made decent heaps of Creds, should we do a FP guild or something?
I would love to play this. I remember wanting to a while ago but not finding a copy of SWG to buy.

Also wow, lots of great stuff on TC: Nova right now. Can't wait for this Alpha to be launched, 1.0 seems so close now.
I've getting some kind of 404 error, whats it say?
[editline]11th May 2012[/editline]
Oh holy fuck its been finally REACHED!
I miss SWG.
Gonna have to hop back on SWG Emu after being an Ex-Community Assistant for it....
I mean i've played SWG on Chimmy since 2003 so don't get me wrong, But this just doesn't feel the same.
I think SWG was one of the best MMO's because it had some real depth. That is something every other MMO is lacking, Depth. What other MMO's do you know that had player cities, player housing, veteran rewards, a awesome collection system and IG titles.
I can't think of any...
Anyways, I just got my SWG head on again...

Decided to give this a try, IGN will probably kaijn. Anyone want to help me get started?
Just a heads up, the current pre-alpha server may be wiped this Sunday, but if anyone wants to go ahead and create a Facepunch guild until then, go ahead and hollah at me.

I think we should organize something, a town would be pretty cool, and if we have good traders running it, it can rake in creds.

I'd be down for that, but unfortunately this thread doesn't get enough visitors for a facepunch town to become a reality at the moment.

It doesn't have to be exclusively FPers, you can bring in friends/good players.
I used to be part of a town on Naboo and a guild on Bloodfin server on the real SWG for a couple years made friends ingame, but never really talked to them out of it, I stopped playing for a year or 2 after the NGE came out, came back, guild was gone, town was gone. a couple guys I had on my friends list were there, but they were just back for the hell of it as well. It was sad. Kinda wished I had stayed made more memories.

thankfully I made memories last.
sadly I don't think we'll ever have another mmo like swg.

I played on Flurry for years, even post NGE had a lot of fun with friends and guildmates just PvPing, running instances, and RPing from time to time and just messing around. had a lvl 90 Commando, lvl 85 Officer and lvl 90 medic. I played with an Imperial guild called SRDiv. There was a kid who apparently had cancer in our guild and I quit SWG for a little while and when I came back I found out he made a little shrine dedicated to me in his ingame house. I remember our guild would just hang out in our cantina and chill and fuck around after a day of pvping and stuff.. we had a lot of reb enemy guilds that we would go at war with. those were some good times....
I always wanted to try SWG, but the CU made it look awful.
Is the EMU worth it? Is it populated?

I was a Flurry player too!
So I've been playing SWGEmu again lately. What is there to do? Made two characters, one on Basilisk and one on the testing server and it seems so empty in terms of stuff to do. I guess it's because it's still in pre-alpha?

Half that, and half because, the original pre CU SWG, was very open, especially for non-combat players, what are you playing as?

Marksman, I made myself a Master Rifleman and Officer with the blue frogs on the test server and then got bored because there was nothing to do, made a Scout on Basilisk, ran around and there was still nothing to do.

Test server is pretty boring, and is the main quest line in here? If not, just do the custom terminal missions.

It's a sandbox game, if it feels empty in terms of stuff to do it's because you probably don't socialize with anyone in the game and try to solo everything. The game's more fun with friends anyway.
I am interested in trying this. What I want to know is, is there a half decent number of people active on the emu.
Bounty hunting for real back in the days just looked mind blowingly awesome.
