The next assassins creed game should take place in ancient Italy, with links to the rest of the roman occupied world.
Japan was almost completely closed to outside culture until 1600 (First firearms at 1500?) and remained relatively medieval controlled by the samurai class even until 1800 when the american navy forced them to open borders. Edit: This means you can just set it to 1500 when japan was almost completely uninfluenced by western culture or invetions (Even their firearms were of quite rare (In western societies) mechanics) but still have your hidden blade gun and smoke bombs etc. because they were possible.
But, Japan architecture does not allow for the traditional AC freerunning. It would only allow you for ground movement, and sometimes on buildings (which were very short).
What about China.
I wish at least one of the assassins creed games takes place in Victorian London. That would be awesome.
What about China.
Well, Asian countries sound pretty awesome at first but I think they're maybe not so connected to Desmond. I don't think it would really fit. But the end of ACB indicated us that maybe you will play as another one, but I highly doubt it. France Revolution would fit good, but I don't like the setting. Furthermore french sounds really gay when in action or anything. Language is just lame.

Also China is the same. Low buildings. Is London in 18-19th century a bad idea? I think it could be quite cool.
The issue is that the combat system is mostly build up upon melee, including swords, spears etc. I bet shooting with muskets and so on or using modern weapon would be boring. Or they should bring up something new to the combat system.
No Brohood was ACII.V
I see what you did there, that is clever.
so when do you get to fly into space and defeat the space pope to defend the cosmos from the evil 2012 solar flare smoke monster
I don't think THAT's gonna happen. Most likely we'll be activating the Precursor Temples and sabotaging the Abstergo satellite launch, thwarting the Templar's master plan and protecting the Earth from another solar apocalypse.
Didn't they say AC3 would focus in modern times as Desmond?

Yeah, but I just simply like swords, hammers and spears.
[sp]Cristina died during one of the repressed memories of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. It's not known if she conceived before dying, or whether her baby was Ezio's. It's safe to assume she didn't have Ezio's baby.[/sp]
Even if she had a child of Ezio's, it's impossible for that kid to be the ancestor of Desmond, as we follow Ezio in brotherhood after her death. That would mean the child must be in existence already, and if it is, the memories of Ezio which Desmond lives in brotherhood wouldn't be accessible.
Wasn't it already said that it'd be in feudal japan?
Please, please get split-screen co-op! Please!
Wasn't it already said that it'd be in feudal japan?
Ninjas!
Wasn't it already said that it'd be in feudal japan?
Nope.

I think London would be an amazing location to set it. The buildings allow for your typical assassins gameplay and the place would look amazing at night.
Heh, can you imagine London in the Industrial Revolution in an AC game? Running around in a grimy white assassin cloak and hood with a bowler hat underneath and a handlebar moustache. "Nothing is true, old bean. But good golly gosh, everything, is permitted!" :monocle:
I'd like to see a Nazi occupied Germany type AC setting.
Wasn't it already said that it'd be in feudal japan?
That'd be awesome, but I don't see it happening. It'd be beautiful though, like Shogun 2 but on a more personal level.
Also how would guns work? Getting shot a million times and still standing?
I definitely think the industrial revolution would be a great time for AC to be set, and all that victorian architecture in London really lends itself well to Assassin's Creed gameplay. The issue with weaponry isn't really a problem in my opinion, there'd just be less of an emphasis on swords and warhammers and more on concealed weapons, which fits the stealth side of Assassin's Creed more. Honestly I really wouldn't mind not seeing much straight up combat. There wasn't quite enough stealth for my taste in Brotherhood anyway. [editline]2nd May 2011[/editline] Also, lol at ubisoft copying valve. [editline]2nd May 2011[/editline] Also, we've already had a modern day Assassins game. What, just 'cause of the whole ARG dealio? Lookie boyo, devs have been doing ARGs for years, Valve didn't invent them.
What, just 'cause of the whole ARG dealio? Lookie boyo, devs have been doing ARGs for years, Valve didn't invent them.
Not the ARG, the "GET A LOT OF PEOPLE TO DO X AND WE'LL RELEASE Y"
I'm pretty sure someone else has been using that tactic long before Valve.
I have in mind that it would be interesting if the Assassin in AC3 would be a pirate. There could be a good mixture of sword & gun play, exploration, free-running could be possible when being in different harbours (especially if it's a city build on the side of a mountain), also think about how awesome swordfights would be in a battle of two ships.
i've always liked this design
there's already a modern assassin's creed, it's called prototype
