what's this about FP not being good at PvP? we were great at pvp we just never had the nerdgasm grind sessions that the other creepy players had, as well as the crazy enchanted high quality gear. I remember getting shot with a cursed arrow that fucked me up bad
we were always about unconventional warfare: dig up their crops, steal their shit, kill a straggler or two using our strength in numbers, or even organizing a giant militia to stand up to the fort mole pubbys. god I miss some of the things we did. Some guy named Seamanstains started a war by attacking a gorrila, it was glorious. also amazing how our line broke after they charged us and we all routed into the woods. it was surreal, scrambling into the woods and seeing walking wounded limping back to the camp, all the while Pvt.ryan was yelling to hold the line.
i remember we had a great pirate outpost FP village that filled up, so a shanty town formed outside. somehow, the shanty town outlived the main village (because of a pubby siege). but they were damaged individuals: i remember walking down the main shanty town street: everyone ran inside and just stared at me from their windows. I remember thinking, 'what have these poor souls seen.'
needless to say, I have pretty much stopped gaming, but this is the one game that with the proper invasion I would play again in an instant. nothing lasts forever, our camp will fall, but the stories will last a lifetime. I can still remember the feelings I got playing this game, this is pretty nerdy but they were real life feelings: camaraderie, friendship, achievement, heck even pride. real life drama would unfold: people would make allegiances within our tribe due to differing viewpoints. what other game allows for that? seriously it was amazing. I was honestly proud of FP's presence in Wurm. we weren't obsessed with winning or thriving, we were obsessed with having a great time. we were bad asses.

A new invasion? Damn, I haven't participated in the earlier ones, but it would give me a good reason to reinstall the game.

Our last proper invasion was probably minges tirith back in 2010. Ever since then its been going downhill, with each invasion usually dying in two weeks and barely having people. So unless you can get more people by some miracle then this one will probably be the same.
So far it's been me, komkastik,delex,hashmere,trulli,nod who is coming but we are here at every invasion except for komkastik. We just can't get enough people... Even though wurm now has a bunch of really good stuff and its now at least a bit appealing to a lot more people with animations, character customization etc... it's still not enough. But we shall see how this turns out, we might need a new thread maybe in GD

I'd have to agree with you dude. I may be coming, but if i do it'll be on a fresh character because i don't want to pay for two months worth of time when realistically i'll only be playing for a few. As an Australian, there almost nobody in my time zone. Without people to play with this game is boring tbh. A big starting community is what this game needs for a bit of fun.

What you need to do is make a thread talking about the history of Facepunch in Wurm. That's what gets people interested.
The problem is you make threads all superserious and that doesn't work. This game is fun when you're just casually playing it for a bit, building a house, gathering animals, making yourself some shit. Being a super organized team in this game isn't fun, it's a chore.
What you want to do is you just want to say "[i]Hey, we're fucking around in this game at the moment, this is what happened last time, here's some sreenshots, if you're interested get in together with us[/i]". Don't even bother with a deed. Maybe make a tiny one where people can respawn.
The point is, let people do whatever they want. Have zany adventures.
i think i'm going to get into this game with some buddies once summer break is out.

Hunh? Why? I find Wurm to be an excellent game, and also EVE at that. Theres nothing wrong with giving a game a shot and supporting the development if you like it.
