90k ly 45k ly which is the larger distance?
Who focking cares? It's empty space, no deal.
EVE is also empty space
"Infinity: Millions-billion star systems" and "Noctis: Billion" This still makes Infinity bigger.
Pardon, I meant "Millions to billions" not, millions of billions.
Also I do think Infinity's that 90,000 or so lightyears in diameter.
Infinity is in the Milky Way, which has a 45,000-50,000 LY radius. Noctis's galaxy has a 90,000 LY radius
http://www.outerra.com/ It's huge.
Outerra is randomly generated? But still cool
It isn't out yet. And that is Earth they're making there btw.
Someone needs to make a game with the whole earth mapped out already.
Someone needs to make a game with the whole earth mapped out already.
Flight simulator 2002-2004-X. X-plane.
Someone needs to make a game with the whole earth mapped out already.
Google Earth :smug:
Crysis has very large downloadable maps Also I don't think Infinity will ever be released.
An easy way to tell that this is complete bullshit just look at the roads. Burnnout paradise's roads are about the size of 3 GTA 3 roads, and its not like the cars in Burnout are six feet tall.
Yeah, sorry I got mixed up between I44 and 31st. That's the one I was talking about. I played it again, it's basically like 90% flat ground and then some villages and hedgerows.
Yeah i know :v: [editline]09:05PM[/editline] hard to do anything more though, object count is at 2 million already apparently, probably more now.
Spore is just the same thing copy pasted over and over and over
When you've seen one dead, gas-spewing rock planet you've seen them all.
I was extremely disappointed with spore, it totally lost its charm when you got to tribal stage, i liked having an over the shoulder view of my creature and going back to the nest and fighting other things and whatever.
minecraft
Daggerfall, fuck yeag!
I didn't know the entire world in Guildwars was usable, I thought you only travelled between locations. Parts in-between were un-usable and shit. Because if that's the case it can hardly be larger than WoW or anything.
You travel between areas in Guild Wars, but similar to the screens between islands in GTA 3/Vice City, or HL1, where you're only like, 10 feet on from where you were, it was just loading the area. The Guild Wars world is a fuck-tonne bigger than WoW's.
Elder Scrolls Dagger fall I think it has all the Provinces and nearly all exploreable
No, it's the 31st normandy map, heres a overview. [img_thumb]http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k285/wa_roush/x.png[/img_thumb]
Anyway to get that map without downloading the 1.8 GB mod? I just want to fly around it ><
I hope TES5 has the largest map known to man.
Spore is an entire galaxy across... so technically making all of the above tiny. - post #6 on this page.
Minecraft. It's infinite.
Spore is an entire galaxy across... so technically making all of the above tiny. - post #6 on this page.

Minecraft. It's infinite.
We just go back in time?
Infinite > 1 Galaxy.
On a related note, here's a video game character size comparison: [img_thumb]http://dl.gamesradar.com/assets/game_size_chart.jpg[/img_thumb] Not too accurate, but I think it's close, mainly with the biggest characters.
Creative mode maps are smaller than gta vc map, alpha maps.. well they are limited to your hard drive :v:
but singleplayer can be infinite and so can smp but that would chew the hell out of your ram.
but singleplayer can be infinite and so can smp but that would chew the hell out of your ram.
Repeat: Randomly generated worlds is pure cheating.
Durr, Daggerfall is 63 square miles.
Uh.. Daggerfall is 63,000 square miles
Randomly generated worlds can't really count. I can write a program to generate a gigantic matrix of squares and call it a game world. Out goes minecraft and daggerfall. Wonder what would happen if we factored in flight simulators?
Ah-ah. Daggerfall only have randomly produced terrain between cities(and randomly generated dungeons), and even that has some boundaries as to what the terrain should look like. I say Daggerfall is in again. [editline]05:17AM[/editline]
Uh.. Daggerfall is 63,000 square miles
Wasn't arena even bigger? Entire cyrodiil?
Here's some comparing with GTA 4's map:
