Look at this again(if you did in the first place.):
Bioshock will most likely be the name for their series of games that deal with different viewpoints and ideals, but, it also surrounds itself with a certain fear. Like the quote I placed above. Yes we all know it has nothing to do with Rapture or Andrew Ryan. If you can't look past that and see what they are doing with the Bioshock series in general you could just not get the game or suck it up and deal with it.
Which leads me to another thing: I have a feeling the next bioshock could be underground dealing with isolationism(or something like that) and the fear of claustrophobia.
That's the first and only response I've read so far that actually addressed the points I was trying to get across. Thank you.
...you could just not get the game or suck it up and deal with it.
But it still amazes me how easily people can begin to lose their temper over something like a web forum.
Though in the other thread I ranted a bit, I do like the inclusion of more, ahem, cleavage.
You really honestly think that was the subject matter of both Bioshock games? The second one has absolutely nothing to do with Andrew Ryan, in fact the only times he was ever mentioned was in passing by Gilbert Alexander and in a few miscellaneous audio diaries.
How about that little kiddy brain-washing ride where he narrated the whole thing via animatronic dummys of himself? That was a huge part of Ryan Amusements. And there was more than just a few audio diaries of and about him. The conflict between him and Lamb was more than half the story.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Well when you read the foolishness over at the Bioware forums it just kind of happens, I apologize. I'm just being straight about it though, you can't do much else cause they won't change anything based off of the dissastifcation of a few people. Maybe I'm being a bit rough about it.
So this guy only thought "Rapture" happened? Going by the fact his head was in a fish tank and there were "Bigdaddy" statuettes.
Sorry if this has been discussed, 12 pages was taking too long to skim through.
Also I have never played the games.

But you're failing to take into account that Bioshock 2 wasn't made by Irrational and is non-canon, so it doesn't matter. Irrational have been working on Infinite since Bioshock was released, so Infinite is a truer sequel than 2.
All the people complaining about Bioshock Infinite not being Bioshock must have hated Half-Life 2 when it came out. How dare they call it Half-Life when it's not even in a scientific facility like the first game! Sellouts!
You could even say the same about Halo: Reach.
No you misunderstand. Half Lie 2 is a sequel, it continues the story, Halo: Reach is set in the Halo universe. I understand the name Bioshock fits because it's the same kind of body enhancing messed up society, but it just seems weird because Bioshock was just titled "Bioshock". Now they uses the word Bioshock as if it is a franchise.
It is really nothing to complain about but it confused me when I first heard about the game.
I'm hoping Andrew Ryan does make a reappearance, very much. Maybe it's his birth like someone said earlier.
What would actually be really, really interesting was if his values about equality and the worker came from Columbia. Like if it's a really rigid social structure based around the wealth having power.
In fact, I'd like to see them get out of the whole 'socialist' thing they had going in bioshock and go for something a bit more opulent and it looks like they might be doing that, which is good.

There was nothing socialist about Rapture, it was Objectivist, which is almost the exact opposite.
If they went from Bioshock 1 to Bioshock: Inf. then no one would complain. The second game wasn't made by the original developers. They probably intended to have this as the second game all along.
Bioshock
Bio=World
Shock=unpredictable event
I just made mention of this because someone tried to point it was called Bioshock because it was underwater which is :hurr:
And from a couple of screenshots, it seems people have been mechanically augmented...not biologically.
except bio = biological modification like
system shock, system = cybernetic modification
except bio = biological modification like

But the modification is to humans...bio
I've never played System Shock so I don't know the story behind it and wikipedia isn't really clear about it.

bio doesnt mean world it means life
look it up

bio doesn't mean world genius..
what's biology?? or right the studying of the world
Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, distribution, and taxonomy.
Hearing about this makes me want to play Bioshock again.
Another game I don't care about.

Why reply?
i kinda wonder why they need "Big Daddies" any more?
they don't need pressure suits in the sky
i kinda wonder why they need "Big Daddies" any more?
they don't need pressure suits in the sky
What makes you think they can take them off?
wonder if you can fly in any parts
well you couldn't swim in Bioshock
Don't mention the beginning
well you couldn't swim in Bioshock
Don't mention the beginning
In bioshock 2 you technically could swim. If you can even call that swimming.
If Big Daddies can go through water without problems does that mean the new Big Daddies have Batman style flight? How awesome would it be in a cutscene to be talking to a guy then have a half ton mechanical monster crash in through the window?
There's nothing to suggest they're big daddies. They're just big mechanical people.
i kinda wonder why they need "Big Daddies" any more?

Didn't you see that heart it has contained in the suit, the suit is probably the thing that keeps it alive.
And probably it's weak spot aswell.
This really looks great.
And, suddenly, the Cyclone Trap is more useful...
New screenshots. Looking good

Also, it seems that those screenshots reveals the exact date of the game: 4th of July, 1912 (look at the banner in the background of the 2nd pic)
I thought that that was the day everything went to shit, like New Years in the first bioshock. Plus I think I read July 4th somewhere else.(not trying to rain on your parade)
Bioshock is a franchise I really want to enjoy because of its fantastic art style and story, but the stiff combat is a too big negative.
So I hope the combat is way more redefined in this.
